Her arrival confused Scott as it reminded him of his first appearance in season 2 of the show, where Tina was also a participant. His interest in Tina stirred discomfort in his partner, India, who criticized him for being misleading.
While speaking to India after returning from his date with Tina, Scott reminisced about his first appearance and revealed Tina was his "stereotypical type" at that time. However, he could not explore a connection with her because he was "locked in" with Kady McDermott. As a result, he felt that he owed it to Tina and himself to at least get to know her.

Scott reassured India his interest in getting to know Tina would not affect their connection, but India disagreed. Even though she did not share her discomfort with him, India expressed her feelings to Elma. While talking with her, India mentioned that by informing her of his intentions Scott did not improve his situation.
