Shark Tank star Robert reflects on his mistake related to money
In his video titled "20 Questions Billionaires Get Asked Every Day," Robert talked about one of the major mistakes he made when he invested in the stock market. At that time he was unaware of the stock as well as the company he was investing in. The main reason why he decided to take this step was to attain "easy money."
He invested $2500 and the stock later went to $200. The Shark Tank investor reflected on his mistake and shared that the major lesson he learned was to "be careful with money." He continued:
"Money is hard and you can make a lot of mistakes with money. The thing I have learned over time is you want to be really careful with the mistakes you make with money. Because once you spend a dollar, it's gone. It ain't coming back."
Robert's godfather had suggested him to invest in the stock market. However, due to not having much knowledge, Robert had to borrow money from his parents to pay it off as the stock declined. The Shark Tank star narrated what had happened, he said he didn't do much research about the company he was investing in, which is why he faced a loss. He said:
"One of the biggest mistakes I made was when I was in my twenties and I invested in stock because my godfather told me it was gonna go through the roof and we're gonna make a ton of money on it. I knew nothing about the stock market, I knew nothing about the stock, I didn't know what the company did."
He continued, emphasizing the lesson to not run after "easy money." Robert mentioned:
"You know what I saw, I didn't see a stock, I saw easy money."
