Teddi Mellencamp's estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, responded to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum's divorce filing. For the unversed, Mellencamp officially filed for divorce on November 1, 2024, a day before publicly announcing her split from Arroyave on Instagram.

In her filing, the reality TV star asked for both legal and physical custody of their children and requested the judge to award her spousal support but to refuse Arroyave if he asks for one.

On Friday, November 8, 2024, Edwin Arroyave made his own filing, pushing back on Teddi Mellencamp's previous requests. In the document obtained by People, Arroyave requested him and Mellencamp to have joint physical and legal custody of their minor children.

Per his response, Arroyave opposed Mellencamp's request for spousal support. In turn, he requested the judge to have the former RHOBH star pay him spousal support and terminate the reality TV star's ability to get any support from him.

Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave married in Indiana in 2011, two years after they first met each other in a nightclub in 2009. They have three kids together: Cruz, Slate, and Dove.

Edwin Arroyave cites prenup in his divorce from RHOBH's Teddi Mellencamp

In his response to Teddi Mellecamp's divorce filing, Edwin Arroyave disputed their date of separation. The Vanderpump Rules guest star mentioned in her initial document that they split back on October 20. However, as per Arroyave, he listed the date of their split as November 1, the day his ex-wife filed for divorce.

Moreover, the Skyline Security Management founder and CEO mentioned that they have a prenuptial agreement in place. He cited their prenup in his filing, stating:

"The parties' Premarital Agreement sets forth the terms regarding the amount and duration of spousal support to be paid."

Arroyave requested that the court should enforce the prenup he and his estranged wife had agreed to. The said prenup also allegedly states that:

"all assets, income from all sources, and obligations of each party are his/her separate property except as specifically set forth therein."

The request was also in response to Teddi Mellencamp wanting her estranged husband to pay for her legal fees and costs for the divorce filing. In his filing, Arroyave checked both of their names to pay for the attorney fees. The same filing noted that full details of Arroyave's separate property were still not clear to him at the time and that he would amend his response with any additional information at a later date.

Edwin Arroyave has not publicly responded to the divorce since the reality TV star announced their separation after 13 years together, on November 2, making the filing his first direct response to the issue.

That said, Arroyave shared a cryptic message about "dark days" in an Instagram Story on November 3, a day after Mellemcamp's divorce announcement. Alongside a post-workout snap, the businessman wrote:

"You're not always going to be motivated or inspired. That's where rituals & habits come in. Having good habits is what will get you through your dark days. It's when you're under pressure that your true character is revealed."

As for Teddi Mellencamp, this isn't the first time she wanted to divorce Edwin Arroyave. The reality TV star admitted that she and her ex almost ended their marriage in 2017, around the time when she joined Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for her first season.
