Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 aired episode 14 this week on Monday, September 2, 2024. The segment saw the new stew, Carrie O'Neill, make her way on the superyacht after joining the cast mid-season.

Although most of the cast got along well with the new stew, Ellie Dubaich, one of the stews wasn't very happy. The two got off the wrong foot as the cast member didn't appreciate Carrie's comments about her footwear, followed by her being unhappy with Aesha Scott's growing closeness to the cast member.

Fans of the show took to social media to criticize Ellie Dubaich's behavior towards the new stew, Carrie O'Neill, and felt that the season 9 cast member was "threatened" by her. One person wrote on X:

"Ellie is so threatened and honestly she should be. I feel sorry for anyone who has to work below her as chief stew"
"Big difference is how one (Ellie) sees Carrie as a threat, and the other (Bri) sees her as welcoming extra help," a fan commented.
"Ellie is always so threatened by everyone. Her insecurity just screams all the time," a tweet read.

Below Deck Mediterranean fans felt that Ellie was more concerned about the "hierarchy" than her job:

"Ellie should be as concerned with her own job performance as she is with The Hierarchy," a person wrote.
"Ellie can't face the fact that Carrie is better than her. Ellie will throw it in Carrie face that she is a 2nd stew and Carrie is a floater. Ellie acts so entitled," a fan commented.
"Ellie is actually going to make me lose my mind. Aesha hasn’t done anything to her (except not fire her when she really could have), and there were always supposed to be 4 stews on this boat. She is beyond obsessed with rank at this point," a tweet read.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 fans further said:

"I believe we've all had a colleague like Ellie, who isn't confident in their abilities and as such, they descend into pure panic whenever a new person is hired and show their jealousy, through complaints + passive-aggressiveness. That's what she's doing to Carrie," a person wrote.
"Ellie could not be more delusional in thunk she's "earned" her position on board. She's most definitely earned a demotion. Ngl, I'm a little excited to see that happen," a fan commented.

Carrie joins the cast in Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 episode 14

Carrie O'Neill joined the cast of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 in episode 14. Captain Sandy was impressed with her resume, especially with her experience with mixology, and introduced her to Aesha Scott.

The chief stew introduced the new cast member to the rest of the crew and soon after, they got ready to go out for drinks. When Ellie walked out in her outfit, Carrie complimented her heels. She added that they needed to get her a "pole" to go with them.

"A stripper pole for the stripper heels," she added.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 star Ellie was not happy about the comment but stated that she was willing to let it slide since it was Carrie's first day. However, she expressed concern about Aesha and Carrie's growing closeness and said it could mean "trouble" for her.

"I've earned my position on this boat and if my position should be threatened at all, I'm just not going to back down," she said.

Fans of the Bravo show took to social media to react to the segment and were critical of Ellie's first impression of Carrie. They felt that the existing cast member was "threatened" by her.

Episodes of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 air weekly on Mondays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
