The Great British Bake Off seaon 15 aired a brand new episode on Tuesday, October 21, 2024, on Channel 4. The segment saw the cast compete in Pastry Week and another contestant's journey ended.
As part of the signature bake, the contestants had to make 12 frangipane tarts, followed by the technical challenge where they had to make a Greek pie. As part of the showstopper, they had to prepare a Paris-Brest centerpiece which consisted of an edible stand, a gateau (cake), a choux pastry ring, and one custard filing. Andy's toffee podium broke within minutes of being assembled and led to his elimination.
Fans of The Great British Bake Off season 15 reacted to Andy's elimination online and were upset to see the contestant go home. One person wrote on X:

The Great British Bake Off fans felt the Channel 4 show would not be the same without Andy:

Andy was eliminated from The Great British Bake Off in week 5. In this segment, the bakers competed in the Pastry Week. During the technical challenge, Andy's Greek pie had a soggy bottom, and he placed second to last on the board. During the showstopper challenge, the contestant attempted to make a toffee podium as part of his Paris-Brest but it shattered during assembly.
While Gill was announced as the star baker of the episode, Andy's journey ended. In a letter addressing his time on the show, the contestant praised his co-competitors and said they were his "baking family."
"I honestly love them all dearly and I'm so honored and grateful to have them as friends," he said.
He said being on The Great British Bake Off had been his "biggest dream," and he couldn't thank those who believed in him enough. He said his journey may have ended in a tear, but he would "certainly be baking Everlong." He said he was sad he didn't get a handshake, win Star Baker, a technical task, or a "Paul pat" while on the show.
He thanked the season 15 fans for their support and said he was filled with "love and joy."

Fans of the baking show reacted to the latest elimination online and were sad to see Andy go home.
