The Great British Bake Off seaon 15 aired a brand new episode on Tuesday, October 21, 2024, on Channel 4. The segment saw the cast compete in Pastry Week and another contestant's journey ended.

As part of the signature bake, the contestants had to make 12 frangipane tarts, followed by the technical challenge where they had to make a Greek pie. As part of the showstopper, they had to prepare a Paris-Brest centerpiece which consisted of an edible stand, a gateau (cake), a choux pastry ring, and one custard filing. Andy's toffee podium broke within minutes of being assembled and led to his elimination.

Fans of The Great British Bake Off season 15 reacted to Andy's elimination online and were upset to see the contestant go home. One person wrote on X:

"Aw Andy, it just wasn't your week, but you were my absolute fave. Huge personality, although shame about being an Arsenal fan, but I'll overlook that. Hopefully, you'll go on to do big with your baking. X," a tweet read.

The Great British Bake Off fans felt the Channel 4 show would not be the same without Andy:

"Haha Wonka… that made me laugh the other week. Awww we were rooting for you Andy. Next week’s show won’t be the same," a person wrote.
"Really sad to see Andy go. He was great fun in the tent," a fan commented.
"Andy was fantastic. I yelled at the TV when his toffee thingy collapsed. Plus, from now on, it will always be known as Mussolini... if only it came in a Benito Box..." a tweet read.

Fans of The Great British Bake Off season 15 further said:

"Gutted Andy was one of faves he seemed like a top bloke," a person wrote.
"I'm so sorry Andy's gone! Going to miss him and his many coloured caps," a fan commented.

"I honestly love them all dearly"— The Great British Bake Off season 15's Andy bids farewell

Andy was eliminated from The Great British Bake Off in week 5. In this segment, the bakers competed in the Pastry Week. During the technical challenge, Andy's Greek pie had a soggy bottom, and he placed second to last on the board. During the showstopper challenge, the contestant attempted to make a toffee podium as part of his Paris-Brest but it shattered during assembly.

While Gill was announced as the star baker of the episode, Andy's journey ended. In a letter addressing his time on the show, the contestant praised his co-competitors and said they were his "baking family."

"I honestly love them all dearly and I'm so honored and grateful to have them as friends," he said.

He said being on The Great British Bake Off had been his "biggest dream," and he couldn't thank those who believed in him enough. He said his journey may have ended in a tear, but he would "certainly be baking Everlong." He said he was sad he didn't get a handshake, win Star Baker, a technical task, or a "Paul pat" while on the show.

He thanked the season 15 fans for their support and said he was filled with "love and joy."

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Big love always, Andy xxx Big Boy Bakes aka Wonka," Andy concluded.

Fans of the baking show reacted to the latest elimination online and were sad to see Andy go home.
