Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 aired episode 16 on Monday, September 16, 2024. The segment saw chief stew Aesha Scott confront second stew Ellie Dubaich after she felt the latter was "overstepping her role." Before talking to the cast member in question, Aesha asked Carrie O'Neill about Ellie's behavior and said she didn't condone it.

Fans of the Bravo show reacted to Ellie and Aesha's conversation online. While some praised the chief stew for confronting Ellie, others felt Aesha was targeting the season 9 cast member. One wrote on X:

"This is why Aesha is a good leader. She played it down the middle between the lying power mad Ellie & the shy newbie Bri. Then after seeing how Ellie started in on new stew, she had enough to take Ellie down. I enjoyed it very much."
"You know Ellie has gotten away playing her little games one too many times…she now thinks she can pull it on anyone. Good on Aesha for calling her out…and that little performance of being shocked … wow," a fan commented.
Aesha isn’t taking her foot off Ellie’s neck and I’m loving every second of it," a tweet read.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 fans criticized Aesha for her behavior towards Ellie:

"Aesha is the "boss" and she makes sure everyone knows it. She found a target in Ellie and is taking her down with this overstepping bs. Aesha too full of herself and isn't prepared to be chief stew," a person wrote.
"Like I get the Boss mentality, I totally do, but some people LOVE to attack Ellie for her rank stuff but Aesha is pulling it this episode and it’s crickets," a fan commented.
"I wouldn't doubt it. I think they needed some drama but this is dumb and so unlike Aesha," a tweet read.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 fans also said:

"The way Ellie said “Really?” to Aesha I would have gone off. Aesha is so nice but I was so seated with her confronting Ellie and setting her straight. Wish Carrie would’ve been available sooner," a person wrote.
"MO Aesha is coming down hard on Ellie this charter because it's the first time she's a) seen it in person and b) had someone who wasn't involved in the whole Bri/Ellie drama to say exactly what's going on that she hasn't seen," a fan commented.

Aesha confronts Ellie in Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 episode 16

In Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 episode 16, titled, Chain of Command-Ment, Aesha Scott noticed Ellie telling Bri and Carrie what to do and also lagging with her work.

As Aesha radioed the two stews to help her in the pantry, Ellie interrupted and asked the Below Deck Mediterranean cast members to help her decorate for an upcoming dinner. Aesha attributed Ellie's behavior to Carrie's presence and felt that the cast member was "overstepping" and decided to confront her about the same.

She pulled Elile aside for a conversation and said that she was annoyed by her behavior since there had been a "buildup."

"I feel like you have been overstepping as the second. The job as the second is to delegate when I am not around. But if I am on the floor, you are not delegating. I've noticed it quite a lot over the last few days. It is really frustrating and just can't happen," Aesha said.

The Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 cast member told the cameras she felt Ellie had "disrespected" her position for her "ego." She added that she felt like she had to "coddle" Ellie the entire season.

Ellie, though, could not understand why Aesha blamed her and said she saw her as a "scapegoat." She told Aesha that she didn't intentionally overstep. Fans reacted to the conversation online and were divided by Aesha confronting Ellie in the latest episode.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 will air episode 17 on September 23, 2024, on Bravo.
