Season 3 of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On premiered on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Couples unsure about their future broke up to enter "trial marriages" with new people to reflect on their original relationships. During the process, the newly paired Sandy and J.R. grew closer. However, when Sandy met J.R.'s original partner, Zaina, she lied about her connection with him.
In episode 5, Just Here For A Hall Pass? Sandy met Zaina and assured her that her relationship with J.R. was anything but physical, although they were trying to get the most out of the experience. She also stated that she was trying to "train" J.R. to become a better person for Zaina.
However, earlier episodes contradicted Sandy's statements. In episode 4, Sandy and J.R. enjoyed a romantic time at the pool, during which they kissed. Sandy also mentioned that she might have fallen in love with J.R. Meanwhile, J.R. was equally reactive to her feelings and wanted to spend more time with her.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On fans took to X to criticize Sandy for not being honest about her relationship with J.R. to Zaina. While some sympathized with Zaina, others claimed Sandy and J.R. deserved each other.
