"Ewww"— The Challenge fans react to unseen footage of Laurel and Josh at the reunion

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras also known as season 40 aired part two of its reunion special on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. The segment saw the cast continue their conversation about the show while in conversation with Maria Menounos and several things came to light.

The host showcased footage of Laurel Stucky and Josh Martinez in the pool and also of the female cast member telling Nia she and Josh made out. Fans of the reality show commented on the footage of the contestants together. One person wrote on X:

During The Challenge: Battle of the Eras aka season 40's reunion part 2, the host, Maria Menounos had production play a clip that had never been aired before. The clip showed Laurel Stucky and Josh Martinez in the pool with several other cast members.

In the clip, someone off camera urged them to "make out" but Laurel laughed and said that it was "established" that she and The Challenge: Battle of the Eras cast members were friends. Someone joked that it "looked like one" and Josh laughed as well.

Later in the clip, the two were seen holding hands, followed by Laurel discussing what happened between her and Josh with Nia Moore. The latter asked if there was anything she wanted to talk about.

"Me and Josh made out," she said.

Nia asked The Challenge season 40 contestant where and she said, "by the pool." Laurel further said it was "good" and Nia asked her why she wouldn't ask him if he liked her. She added that he had "communicated" something along those lines.

After the clip concluded, Maria asked if anything more happened between the two apart from flirting. Laurel said Josh got "really drunk" and said some things. She said as they were walking towards the house, he asked if she wanted to get pizza and gave her another kiss.

Considering how long the MTV stars had known each other, Maria asked if it was the only time something romantic had happened between them. The female cast member shook her head "No." Maria asked if there was a chance of it being something more in the future and Josh said it was "clear" they were "pretty good friends."

"I made him a bet, listen because this is not gonna happen because like, every time he gets a little bit drunk, he's like "I just really like you and I wanna make out" and then I'm like "Okay, whatever, it's a makeout" and I said "if you do it again, then you owe me a $100," Laurel recalled.

Fans of The Challenge season 40 reacted to the unseen footage online and felt both could "do better."
