In episode 5 of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3, Scotty met Zaina's sister, Hannah, and her friends, Jarrad and Belen. When they asked Scotty what he saw in Zaina that was absent in his relationship with Aria, he said that she had a different maturity level and different life experiences than Aria.

However, Hannah stated that she still preferred her relationship with J.R. because she thought Zaina was more true to herself when she was with J.R. Zaina didn't echo her sentiments, stating that she was unsure of her feelings towards J.R. and that she might even leave the experiment single.
