Season 15 of The Real Housewives of New York City aired Episode 10, A Strictly Ballroom Affair, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. The episode featured the cast celebrating Racquel and Mel's engagement at their ballroom-themed party. However, not everyone knew what ballroom meant. One such housewife was Erin, who struggled to decipher the theme's meaning.
Erin was confused by the categories specified in the invitation and did not know who to dress up as. According to her, ballroom meant something out of Beauty and the Beast. However, that was not what Racquel was going for. Racquel wanted her party to celebrate queer ballroom culture and highlight voguing.
The Real Housewives of New York City fans took to X to criticize Erin for not knowing what ballroom meant or who Grace Jones was. Erin was shown using her phone to look up the Jamaican-American singer-songwriter and model, Grace Jones after Racquel told her that she would be dressing up as her.

The Real Housewives of New York City fans were disappointed to discover that Erin did not know about Grace Jones, an artist who spent her early years modeling in New York and went on to appear on multiple magazine covers, including Elle and Vogue. Netizens also commented on her misunderstanding the ballroom theme.

In one episode segment, Erin and Racquel met at a restaurant to discuss the ongoing disputes in their friend group. Once they glanced over their interpersonal relationships, Erin mentioned that she still had not prepared an outfit for Racquel's party. While speaking to the cameras, The Real Housewives of New York City star confessed:
"I'm very confused about this theme. There's like 10 people you can dress like but then you could also dress like a man. Also it's ballroom?"
Erin then asked Racquel who she was dressing up as. When Racquel mentioned she was "most like doing Grace," Erin exclaimed in approval. In a confessional, Erin explained that the theme "ballroom" reminded her of Beauty and the Beast and its final dance scene.
Racquel then revealed that she had bought herself a collar and a leash to pair with her outfit. Hearing that, Erin said:
"Grace Kelly in a collar and a leash? I love it."
At that point, Racquel realized that Erin had misunderstood her. She clarified that she was talking about Grace Jones, not actress, Grace Kelly. However, Erin struggled to recognize Grace Jones and took out her phone to look her up.
Later, Erin and her partner, Abe arrived at Racquel's party dressed as each other. The Real Housewives of New York City cast complimented their idea and creativity.
