Hell's Kitchen season 23 aired a new episode this week on Friday, October 24, 2024. The segment marked a milestone moment for the show as it aired its 350th episode of the show but for one cast member, it was tougher than the others.

Having been in the elimination challenge two times in a row, Egypt expressed wanting to leave the show. The contestant had been at odds with members of the Blue Team and opened up about his childhood.

As Dinner service approached, the contestant told Chef Ramsey he was ready to leave but the chef convinced him to stay. He told him he believed in him and saw something in him.

Fans reacted to Egypt wanting to leave online and were critical of Egypt's decision to want to leave. One person wrote on X:

"Egypt really let these people and the game break him. He went from one of the seemingly toughest chefs this season to fulling giving up"
"Okay, Egypt is staying. It should be in their contract that they can’t drop out unless it’s due to medical and mental reasons. Not because they miss their family," a fan commented.

Fans of Hell's Kitchen season 23 felt bad seeing Egypt wanting to leave:

"I feel bad seeing Egypt getting emotional like this. He's here for the right reasons and he's doing a great job!! Everyone else just needs to get their egos in check!!" a person wrote.
"Egypt Nooooooooo! Bro you are easily the best one there.. youu cannot quit!! Even Ramsay should take you aside and tell you this," a fan commented.
"They’re on Egypt’s a** because of….racism! And I don’t wanna hear no excuses. Every time there’s a confident and skilled black person on this show they get labeled as “arrogant” and “aggressive”. I said I was done after how they treated Summer a season or so ago," a tweet read.

Fans of Hell's Kitchen further said:

"Egypt's light oh wow chef Ramsay likes me and sees something in me. No he wants to have a week episode where he kicks you off the show. If everybody starts quitting the show will not have enough episodes for this season," a person wrote.
"Chef Ramsay doesn't want Egypt to leave this way. It will mess up the TV schedule. Chef Ramsey wants to be able to kick him off the show for another week's episode," a fan commented.

"You got a target on your back"— Anthony talks to Egypt in Hell's Kitchen season 23 episode 5

In Hell's Kitchen season 23 episode 5, titled, Homesick in Hell, Egypt had an emotional moment. He told Anthony and Whit he grew up poor and lived in shelters. He said that he didn't want his children to experience a similar childhood.

"You've gotta play the game. You've gotta make friends. You got a target on his back," Anthony said.

The following day, the contestants competed in a challenge and had to make burgers. Since there were seven proteins, one member of the blue team had to volunteer to cook twice. Two members of the blue team emerged victorious while Egypt tied with Magali.

As they returned to the house, Hell's Kitchen season 23 contestant Egypt spoke to Joe about missing his "babygirl." Joe assured him most people in the competition didn't have children and did not understand his and Egypt's position.

Before the dinner service, Egypt told Gordon Ramsey he wanted to quit. The chef pulled him aside from a private conversation and told Egypt he saw something in him.

"I see something in you that they don't. Focus on you and focus on your family. I still believe in you, so believe in yourself. Don't you dare throw that towel in," Gordon Ramsey said.

Fans reacted to the segment online and were critical of Egypt wanting to leave the reality show.

Hell's Kitchen season 23 airs episodes weekly on Thursdays at 8 pm ET on Fox.
