In Love Island USA season 6 episode 31, the cast participated in the much-awaited Heart Rate Challenge, which pits the islanders against each other based on gender. The contestants dressed steamily and performed in front of their opposing teams.

When it was Miguel's turn, he showed up to the firepit as a firefighter. As he entered, he asked whether the female islanders were ready to "turn up the heat" as they hooted for his upcoming performance.

Before he started dancing, Miguel said in a confessional:

"Am I gonna be the best in the male group? Yes. Are the girls gonna feel a type of way? Yes."

Miguel made his way to Kaylor first and put his firefighter hat on the Love Island USA season 6 islander's head. He then picked Serena up and hugged her upside down. His performance earned him praise from the female islanders. Jana said in a confessional that Miguel spun Serena around like a helicopter, while Nicole said that if the islander was her "man," she would ask him how he knew the things he was doing.

He picked Daniela up next and bounced her in his arms while Leah yelled at him from a side. When he kissed JaNa's neck, Kenny, who was watching along with the rest of the male islanders, yelled for Miguel to "leave her alone."

As Miguel made his way to Leah, the Love Island USA season 6 cast member put his hand into the firepit before choking her, which shocked the women.

"Vote us to the next hideaway next. It's giving I need to propose to him with a 24-karat ring," Leah applauded Miguel's performance in a confessional.
