"He did it to himself" — Survivor season 47 fans react to TK Foster's elimination

Season 47 of Survivor released its latest episode on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. After Jon Lovett's shocking elimination in the premiere episode, viewers hoped to see the tribes working more cohesively. However, tensions reached an all-time high as castaways of one tribe failed to trust each other.

In episode 2, Epic Boss Girl Move, the castaways of the Tuku tribe clashed over alliances. TK formed a secret partnership with "bro" Kyle and Tiyana, wanting to eliminate Sue, considering her to be the weakest link on their team. He assumed convincing Gabe would be easy, making him the fourth vote against Sue.

However, Gabe intended to ally with Sue and Caroline, hoping to persuade Tiyana to switch sides. He finally got the opportunity to break apart TK's alliance after the immunity challenge, where TK's condescending behavior and attitude unimpressed Tiyana. He criticized his tribe for smiling when defeated, directing his comments explicitly at Tiyana.

Gender-divided, the Tuku tribe went to the tribal council. TK was blindsided and sent home with four votes against him.

Survivor fans took to X to react to the elimination. Many fans blamed TK's dominant and overpowering personality for his downfall. They said he was wrong to have tried to dictate the group while maintaining an unapologetic demeanor.

"TK is gone but he did it to himself," a fan wrote.

Many Survivor fans disapproved of TK's seemingly overbearing behavior, holding it accountable for his exit from the competition.

At the same time, some Survivor fans reacted to another man's elimination after Jon Lovett's in the previous episode.

"THE FIRST TWO BOOTS WERE BOTH MEN!" one person reacted.

What led to TK Foster's elimination in Survivor season 47 episode 2?

In the previous episode, TK had allied with Kyle and Gabe. However, the Survivor cast member switched Gabe with Tiyana, unimpressed by the former's aggressive gameplay. Although Tiyana hesitated to join forces with the two men, unwilling to get caught in their "bromance," she eventually allied with them, turning against Sue and Caroline. She even agreed to TK's plan to evict Sue.

However, relationship dynamics in the Tuku tribe took a turn after they lost the immunity challenge. While Tiyana tried to maintain a positive environment despite getting defeated, TK, the former athlete, was upset his tribemates were not taking the loss seriously. He said:

"If you're going to be on my tribe, everybody needs to have the same mindset that I have."

The Survivor cast member's anger was directed towards Tiyana for smiling after the loss.

TK's reaction disappointed Tiyana, who wondered if she made the right choice by staying in an alliance with him. She was also bothered by TK's "bro code" talk with Kyle while the tribe rested on the beach earlier that day. Caught in an impasse, Tiyana contemplated if she should turn against the "big dogs."

Although TK refused to apologize to Tiyana for his outburst, Kyle's mediation helped them temporarily reconcile their relationship. Consequently, Tiyana agreed to execute TK's plan to vote out Sue.

However, before the tribal council, Sue approached Tiyana, urging her to form a group of women who would challenge the men's dominance.

Ultimately, Tiyana flipped, leading to TK's elimination. Kyle and TK were the only people who voted against Sue, whereas, Sue, Caroline, Gabe, and Tiyana voted against TK.
