Episode 35 of Love After Lockup season 5 was released on August 23. It saw the couples go through new revelations that set the stage for the upcoming episodes' plots. Troy and Zeruiah's church visit was one of them. They took along Troy's mom Karen to a church, where Zeruiah's mom and dad were singing in the choir.
Zeruiah hoped for both families to have a good time together. Her son was also excited to see both his grandmas together. However, after a bit, Karen burst out laughing, which was the effect of the gummies she had taken before coming to the church.
Zeruiah didn't take it well and said in a confessional that her parents were strict and wouldn't like such behavior. Fans of the show too took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to Karen being high. Some of them even noted that there were fewer people in the stands than in the choir itself.

What happened during Troy and Zeruiah's church visit in Love After Lockup season 5 episode 35?
Before Troy, Zeruiah, and Troy's mom, Karen even got to the church on Love After Lockup, Zeruiah took to a confessional. She said Karen told her she wasn't wearing panties and that she was going to eat gummies, which was "crazy" to Zeruiah.
Once they reached the church, Zeriuah's mom and dad were seen singing on the stage. Her mom took to a confessional to say that she was excited for Troy to get out of prison and hoped that one day he would be a minister at the church.
Zeruiah said in a Love After Lockup confessional that she wanted Troy to see what her parents did, and how it was so different than what's preached in other churches. But as soon as her father started preaching, Karen started laughing. She told Zeruiah he sounded like a "comedian" and was "ghetto".
While she was cackling in the chair of a scantily crowded church, sitting next to Zeruiah, she told Troy that his mom was "tripping" and that was having a breakdown.
Zeruiah then said in a confessional that there was "time and place" for everything and her parents wouldn't like such behavior because they were very "strict".
