"History books"— Survivor fans react to Rachel stealing rice during the immunity task

Survivor season 47 aired a brand new episode this week on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. The segment saw the tribes compete in yet another immunity and reward challenge.

The winner of the challenge was Tribe Gata, who won immunity and fishing equipment. Lavo finished second and also won immunity and a smaller reward. Taku, who finished third, was in danger of losing a tribe member.

While the immunity challenge was intense, one cast member taught Jeff Probst's eye at the end. Tribe Gata's Rachel LaMont was caught trying to steal rice and made to empty her pockets.

Fans reacted to Rachel stealing rice online and were impressed by her thought process. One person wrote on X:

Survivor fans reacted to Jeff not allowing Rachel to keep the rice:

"I so wish Jeff would’ve let Rachel bring the pocket-rice back to camp. I thought that was hilarious and so smart on her part," a person wrote.

"In 2003, Rupert stole the opposing tribe's shoes and sold them. It was voted the next season as the greatest moment in #Survivor history. Over 20 years later, Jeff narcs on Rachel and makes her dump out the rice she pocketed during the challenge," a fan commented.

"Is there a rule about not taking the rice? If you can hide a clue at a challenge, let Rachel take the rice," a fan commented.

Survivor season 47 episode 2: Rachel attempts to steal rice, gets caught by Jeff Probst

In Survivor season 47 episode 2, titled, Epic Boss Girl Move, the three tribes competed in yet another immunity task. The task required the contestants to jump into the ocean and race to a tower head-on.

They had to get bags of rice through a small hole and back to shore. Another player had to stand behind a cage and move a key through a maze. After acquiring the key, they had to tear the rice bags to find a ball and move it through a snake trap.

While the Survivor season 47 castaways were busy performing the challenge, Rachel from Gata was seen filling her pockets with rice. After the task ended, Jeff congratulated Gata and Lavo for winning the immunity challenge.

"Guys before I send you out, I have a question for Rachel. Did I see you putting some rice in your pocket?" Jeff asked.

The season 47 cast member laughed and said he saw nothing. He said it was "unbelievable" and asked her to empty her pockets.

"Hey, when I was standing at that bag of rice, I thought, maybe we can take some home with us," Rachel said.

Jeff praised her for trying but asked the contestant to empty her pockets regardless. Fans reacted to the ordeal online and praised Rachel for being innovative.
