Judge Mathis’ wife, Linda, reportedly filed for divorce on Thursday, August 22, 2024. The couple has been married for 39 years and are parents to four adult children. The latter allegedly cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the split.
According to legal documents exclusively obtained by TMZ, Linda listed the day of separation as July 17. The latter also asked for spousal support as she filed for divorce. It remains unclear as to whether the couple had signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their marriage.
The couple got married in June 1985, just a few years after Judge Mathis graduated from college and 14 years before his reality court show, Judge Mathis, first aired on television.

The separation comes after Linda took to her Instagram on April 5 to shower her husband with love on his 64th birthday. While sharing a carousel of images of their lives behind the scenes, she had appreciated how great the journey of life had been with him, in a now-deleted Instagram post.
The duo are parents to Jade Mathis, Camara Mathis Webb, Greg Mathis Jr., and Amir Mathis. The family has showcased the unfiltered version of their lives on their reality show, Matthis Family Matters, which aired in 2022.

Camara Mathis Webb is the second child of the couple. The Michigan State University graduate pursued a career in law and is now an entertainment attorney in Los Angeles, California. She has been practicing law for over nine years. Camara, who has earned the moniker "Momma Mathis," by the family, is also a wife and a mother to two daughters.
Greg Mathis Jr., best known as Bobby in his family, is a political advocate and entrepreneur. He also manages multiple real estate ventures. He became involved in the Washington, D.C., political scene by becoming a senior advisor in the United States Senate. He has also worked for two members of the United States House of Representatives.
Greg also advocated for several causes, including the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, and took part in advocating for the LGBTQ community through various non-profit organizations.
Jade Ellis Mathis is the couple’s firstborn. She is an attorney, public speaker, mental health advocate, and attorney. Jade gained immense praise in the legal community for observing the deficits in the criminal justice system and creating unique programs as alternatives to incarceration.
Speaking about his family’s values, Judge Mathis revealed in an interview with Ebony in June 2022:
“Our family is not perfect by any means, but we are family that has a lot of fun together and are all very passionate about our careers and giving back. We also stick together, support each other and work through life challenges together when things get tough.”
