"Hurting in different ways"— Love Island USA star Aaron opens up about relationship with Kaylor

Love Island USA season 6 aired its reunion special on Monday, August 19, 2024. During the segment, several revelations were made, including one about Aaron and Daniela's relationship in Casa Amor.

At the time, Aaron told the group and Kaylor Martin, his on-screen girlfriend, that while in Casa Amor, he put his hands down Daniala's pants, kissed, and "snogged her."

At the time, Kaylor criticized the season 6 star for lying to her and for making excuses. On August 20, 2024, Aaron appeared on The Viall Files to address his and Kaylor's relationship outside the show and praised her for handling the backlash well.

Aaron said that he thought Kaylor handled the situation "very, very well" and that he didn't think anyone else would have reacted to it any differently. He added that he wouldn't have reacted in a better way himself.

"It got to a point where we were kind of both supporting each other but then like, we were both hurting in different ways," he added.

Aaron stated the situation between Kaylor and him turned sour to the point where they both realized it wasn't "good" for them to be together.

During the interview with Nick Viall, The Bachelorette alum asked the Love Island USA season 6 star about the public reaction to his appearance on the show. Viall further asked Aaron about Kaylor's reunion special appearance and her reaction to the news about him and Daniela.

"I'm super proud of Kaylor for coming at the reunion the way that she did. I feel like she needed to. Like she had to react the way that she did and I wanted her to as well," Aaron said.

The Love Island USA star said he wanted Kaylor to "come down" on him because she dealt with the situation differently. He recalled that the female cast member took "a step back" for a few days before they discussed their appearance on the Peacock show and the public reaction.

Aaron stated he felt Kaylor "needed" to go through the process to be able to heal and understand that Aaron did "mess up." When Nick Viall asked the cast member whether he thought the Love Island USA reunion special was Kaylor's "opportunity for redemption," the male cast member explained that Kaylor and he were similar in a lot of ways.

While elaborating on the same, the reality star said that Kaylor gathered her thoughts before addressing the situation. He stated that it wasn't portrayed like that in the final edit but the two didn't speak for a few days while in Fiji after Casa Amor. Aaron added that when they returned to film the Peacock show's reunion special, Kaylor did need to "do that" to redeem herself and stand up for herself.

"I've got nothing against it whatsoever. Like I wish her all the best," Aaron said.

The Love Island USA season 6 star was further asked if he thought he and Kaylor could reconnect in the future and Aaron said he didn't know. He said there was a chance once Kaylor healed and was "happy" again, she could reach out and have "one final conversation" but he couldn't be sure.

Kaylor and Aaron coupled up during the first firepit session in Love Island USA season 6. The two were together throughout the show, although they had a small hiccup during Casa Amor when Aaron connected with Daniela. While the couple left the show together, they had their ups and downs after the show.

However, the final nail in the coffin came during the reunion special when Aaron revealed that he had lied to Kaylor about how intimate Daniela and he had been.
