"I cheered"— The Challenge fans react to Jordon telling Jenny to "shut up" during the finale

The Challenge season 40, also known as Battle of the Eras started the New Year by airing part 1 of its season finale on January 1, 2025. The segment saw the remaining contestants compete in the first four legs of the finale.

Wednesday's episode saw Jordon and Jenny in lead, however, over time, the female cast member seemed to be losing her calm, especially during the overnight challenge during which the contestants had to sort through bags of coins and they had to count for 30 minutes. They then had to sing Show Me the Way to Go Home for the next 30 minutes and the process was repeated until the players counted all their counts.

Fans of the reality show commented on Jenny's behavior during the four checkpoints of the episode and Jordon asked her to keep quiet and to let everyone else focus. One person wrote on X:

"I cant stand jordan but when he told jenny to shutup, i cheered"

"Jordan telling Jenny to shut up and to just quit has me. This reminds me of Aneesa on s38," a tweet read.

Fans speculated that the cast member was going through Nicotine withdrawal:

"SHE'S GOING THROUGH NICOTINE WITHDRAWAL. On top of all the physical activity, she's now going 36+ hours without her vape and so everything she's feeling is multiplied. Which if Jenny loses because of her vape addiction...Well...that would be her fault," a person wrote.

"I think Jenny is having some withdraw from her vape (i am guessing she is not vaping in the final) which would definitely change her mood! That is my guess!" a fan commented.

In The Challenge Battle of the Eras (season 40) finale, the overnight checkpoint consisted of the contestants having to count coins and singing. The process continued till all the players had counted their coins but one cast member's growing discomfort didn't sit well with some of the other stars.

In the middle of task, when The Challenge season 40 stars were singing, Jenny noted that listening to the song could drive anyone "crazy." But the song wasn't the only thing, as the cast member continued to complain about sorting coins as well.

The Challenge Battle of the Eras star said she understood that they couldn't go to sleep and told her brain to not "shut down" due to exhaustion. One of the cast members told her that they had been in an intense finale before and reminded Jenny they were all counting.

Michele chimed in on Jenny's mood in a confessional and said The Challenge star had started fraying at the edges and noted that she was "slamming her coins" and was very "vocal" about her discomfort. Derek also commented on the same and said that Jenny was going "crazy" because of hunger and exhaustion. As Jenny continued to contain, more cast members got upset.

"Shut up, we're all trying to count our coins," Jordan yelled.

Fans of the reality show praised Jordan for shutting the cast member down and blamed her behavior on nicotine withdrawal.

The winners of The Challenge season 40 will be announced next week on Wednesday at 8 pm ET on MTV.
