RuPaul's Drag Race season 17 aired episode 3, Monopulence! on January 17, 2025. It saw the fourteen queens compete against one another in a Monopoly-themed design challenge, where each had to create a look that reflected opulence. Lucky Starzzz and Joella ended up in the bottom two, failing to impress the judges, but it was an intense lip-sync battle that eliminated Lucky Starzzz, saving Joella.
Renowned for her "crafty" designs, Lucky Starzzz struggled to create outfits inspired by Monopoly, stating sewing was not one of her strongest suits. Consequently, her finished product received an underwhelming response from the judges who pointed out areas that could have been better.
When Lucky Starzzz's lip-sync to Paula Abdul's The Way That You Love Me also failed to meet the judges' expectations, Ru decided to send her packing. While preparing for the Monopoly-themed challenge, Lucky Starzzz faced difficulty tackling the fabric since she lacked sewing skills. Ru was surprised to see "crafty queen" Lucky Starzzz struggle with sewing. The RuPaul's Drag Race star explained that although she was creative, sewing was not included in her skillset.

Like Lucky Starzzz who admitted she "couldn't think straight," Joella also could not stitch. As a result, their costumes failed to impress the panelists, one of whom was comedian Sandra Bernhard, featured as this week's special guest.
During the review of Lucky Starzzz's outfit, the judges noted that it had "rough edges." Additionally, her lack of confidence while wearing the costume bothered the RuPaul's Drag Race judges. Similarly, they felt that Joella's garment did not meet the expectations of opulence.
Following the challenge, Lucky Starzzz and Joella faced off in an intense lip-sync battle. Both RuPaul's Drag Race queens put their best foot forward to secure their spot in the competition.
