The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 premiered with Episodes 1-5 on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. In Episode 5, it was time for the newly formed couples to meet each other's friends and family. Consequently, Sandy introduced J.R. to her mother, Lori, sister, Liz, and friend, Carley. However, when her former partner, Nick, learned of their meeting, he had an emotional breakdown.

After Vanessa, Nick's trial marriage partner exited the show without a word, Nick was left to continue the experiment alone. Although he found comfort in Mariah, whose partner Micah had also quit the show, his mind remained occupied with thoughts about Sandy and J.R.'s connection.

Nick's restlessness worsened after discovering that Sandy had introduced J.R. to her family and friends. Overcome by emotions, Nick rushed to their apartment to talk to his former girlfriend. However, despite his pleas, J.R. refused to let him interact with Sandy. An anxious Nick returned to his room and wept behind closed doors.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On fans took to X to react to Nick's emotional outburst. While some sympathized with the cast member, others encouraged him to leave the experiment, displeased with his reaction.

"Wow….. Nick doesn’t deserve that, I’m in tears for him, he deserves so much better than her in my opinion," a fan wrote.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On: Nick feels threatened by J.R.

In one segment, Nick expressed that the news of J.R.'s meeting with Sandy's mother "rocked" him. It aggravated his tension and caused him much worry. While speaking to the cameras, the 38-year-old cast member confessed that he felt restless even though he had joined the experiment "very sure" of himself.

"Right now, it's a lot of chaos," he said.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star immediately called Sandy to ease his mind. When Sandy answered the phone, Nick confessed he loved her and was scared. However, he did not receive the support he had expected.

In a confessional, Sandy stated that she knew Nick was hurting. However, she could not do anything to help him because he knew what he had signed up for. Since Nick had brought her to the experiment, she wanted to give her trial marriage with J.R. a genuine try before making any decision.

When Sandy criticized Nick for disrespecting her, he accused her of "punishing" him. The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star added that there was no reason for him to stay on the show if she intended to move on.

While speaking to the cameras, Nick mentioned that J.R. threatened him.

"I have to sit with the feeling of being threatened in this whole experience because J.R. is the biggest threat to me. On the flip side, she has no threats 'cause there's nobody here," he said.

Feeling overwhelmed, the cast member decided to visit J.R. and Sandy's apartment. J.R. opened the door when he heard Nick knocking. However, he slammed it on his face when Nick requested to see Sandy.

Nick continued to knock, refusing to leave without talking to her. When J.R. opened the door the second time, Sandy confronted Nick and forced him to leave.

"It's so disrespectful. I feel so, like, violated. He wants me to go home. That's so f**king unfair," Sandy said.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star blocked Nick's number while J.R. comforted her. Meanwhile, Nick returned to his apartment and wailed and sobbed.

Later in the episode, when the male cast members reunited for a night out, Nick apologized to J.R. for his reaction, admitting he should not have acted that way.
