90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After released its latest episode on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Amidst the chaos backstage between Angela and Michael, Kobe and Emily Blaise argued over their unborn baby's name.
While Emily wanted to name her child something else, Kobe insisted they named it after his friend Valerie's family name, Atem. Emily got emotional, stating her feelings were never acknowledged, while Kobe reiterated it was the only thing he asked of her. The duo failed to reach an agreement and walked separate ways to avoid further confrontation.
It was ultimately revealed that the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After couple had a son, born on March 15, 2024. Eventually, Emily gave in and the baby was named Atem. Fans of the show took to X to comment on their argument. Although they congratulated the couple for welcoming their third child, many were unhappy with the name they chose.

Emily broke down recalling how her name suggestion was not being considered. She requested Kobe to use "Atem," his friend's family name, as their child's middle name, but the latter refused. She claimed it was "unfair" that she could not give their baby a name of her choice.
She was not fond of Kobe's suggestion because Valerie disliked her and disapproved of their marriage.
"I feel, like, it's so unfair, like, you already get the last name, we can make it a middle name, and now he won't let me do the first name," Emily said.
The 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After star confessed it made her unexcited about her pregnancy. When Kobe came to check on her, she complained he was not giving her "any compromises." It was "a big deal" for her and she hoped both agreed on one name. Given their circumstance, Emily confessed it was one versus the other.
She wished a daughter was born so they would not argue over baby names.
"I really hope we're having another girl. Just so you're happy," Kobe stated.
Kobe retaliated and said she did not let him express his opinions on things like this. He added that he always listened to her and tried to match her flow, so it was unfair on her part to deny him the opportunity to name their baby boy.
"The one thing that I am asking, you are acting as if I should be flexible about it," Kobe said.
When he pointed out that she "never argued" when he mentioned the name before, Emily retorted by saying she also never agreed. She got up and left to avoid further confrontation.
Later in the episode, it was revealed the couple had a boy who was ultimately named Atem. Emily compromised to honor Kobe's friend with whom he spent a considerable part of his life.
