"I was vulnerable" — Selling Sunset star Emma Hernan claims she filmed "numerous scenes" with person of interest that didn't air

Selling Sunset Season 8 became available to stream on September 6, 2024 on Netflix. The reality show revolving around the Oppenheim Group, featured several realtors working with Jason and Brett Oppenheim and saw their professional and personal lives put on display.

One cast member, Emma Hernan, who found herself in the middle of controversial recently addressed her Season 8 journey while in conversation with Vulture. During the September 13, 2024 conversation, she revealed that she filmed several scenes with the person she was seeing but those didn't make the final edit.

Emma explained that she filmed the season with the person she was seeing but was hesitant to do so. She added that she had been very private about her dating life and that felt like she opened up in season 8. She further stated she didn't know why those scenes didn't make it to the final edit.

"I was vulnerable. That wasn’t easy for me," Emma said.

She added that she still did it because she believed it would be good for the audience to get a look into her private life.

Emma also spoke about Nicole Young and the latter's insinuation that she previously had an affair with a married man and called her "a sick individual."


Selling Sunset Season 8 star Emma was "disheartened" by what Nicole Young said about her

The Selling Sunset Season 8 star Emma Hernan further chimed in on where she got the "bitemark" that was referred to in Episode 6. At one of the cast's events, she was questioned about a bite mark on her arm and Chelsea Lazkani humorously defended her by saying she gave it to her.

Emma told Vulture that "everyone" knew who it was but they were pretending they didn't. She said that she didn't understand the "thought process" behind it and why her love life wasn't showcased on screen. The Selling Sunset star said she wanted people to "relate" to her and wanted to show her relationship to the world.

She added that it was a "better story line" not to let her know what was being said behind her back. Emma Hernan also chimed in on Nicole Young insinuating that Emma had an affair with a married man and denied the claims. While being "super-candid" the Season 8 star said that Nicole was a "sick individual" and that there was "zero truth to that rumor."

Explaining the professional relationship she had with the person in question, the Selling Sunset Season 8 star said she showed him properties in 2021. Emma added that they were interested in investing in her "empanada company" but she declined the offer.

Emma said nothing happened between them and that she never "touched" or "kissed him." She further said she was "blindsided" by Nicole's claims in Selling Sunset Season 8 and felt that the cast member had defamed her.

Emma said that the relationship she had with the client was not even in a "gray area". She explained that the person reached out to her and was getting a divorce at the time. The Selling Sunset Season 8 cast member said he sent her the "fact" that he was "legally separated" and was looking at properties.

She said "there might've been a crush there" but nothing happened between them. She further said it was "disheartening" to hear what Nicole said about her on camera.
