Jennie Garth didn't hold back sharing her feelings about returning for CW's 90210 reboot. She joined her 90210 co-stars for the 90s Con 2024 on Saturday, September 14.

Garth reminisced about the five seasons of the 90210 reboot. She said that she regretted her participation, saying:

"I wish I hadn't one it. No offense to them. The producer was a friend of a friend, and I remember he came over in my living room, sat me down, [billed as it is] the chance of a lifetime."

She explained that the producer asked her to do it and admitted that she "didn't know how to say no." However, Garth noted that the people she worked with were "very nice and all the best to them."

Gabrielle Carteris was also at the event and she agreed with Garth's comments. She said she also didn't want to be part of the reboot and was "shocked" that they were doing a new show. Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering were also on the panel with them.

Only Garth, Tori Spelling, and Shannen Doherty participated in the 90210 reboot. However, the original cast, including Garth, Green, Ziering, and Jason Priestley, came together for one season of Fox's BH90210 revival.

Jennie Garth said that she is "proud" of the OG Beverly Hills, 90210

Elsewhere during the '90s Con panel, the foursome reminisced their time working in the original 90s show, which aired in 1990 and lasted for ten whole seasons. Jennie Garth looked back in the OG series, saying they had several "jump the shark" moments, but she "enjoyed" all of them. She explained:

"Just watching the show back, we get more and more outlandish. Even I watch it and I enjoy it as a fan. Even in the jump the shark moments, I'm still so proud of the show and love it."

Other cast members also remembered the original series with fondness. Carteris mentioned that Beverly Hills, 90210 resonated with the audience because "it was fearless in tackling series issues," like domestic violence, teen s*x, and alcohol and drug abuse. Green also commented about how the "lack of the internet" in the 90s was one of the reasons the show was successful.

As for Jennie Garth, she's been candid about loving working on the show when she was a teen. She told Self on September 12 that her experience in the series influenced how she parents her three daughters. Garth said that her personal development during her 90210 days was "incredibly stunted" and that she didn't have a sense of self back then. With her kids nowadays, Jennie Garth said she gives them "little nudges and advice" that she wishes to tell her younger self.
