The Challenge: Battle of the Eras aired episode 5 on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. The segment saw two more cast members get eliminated after an elimination arena challenge called 'Getting Hammered.'
Kyland and Olivia told the cast that C.T. Tamburello and Tina Barta from Era 1, who lost the daily challenge, would compete against Nehemiah and Emily as individuals. Tina and Nehemiah emerged victorious and sent the other two packing.
Fans were upset to see C.T. go home and took to social media to express their opinion. One person wrote on X:

C.T. and Emily get eliminated from The Challenge: Battle of the Eras in episode 5
The Challenge season 40 episode 5 started with yet another daily challenge which saw Era 1 finish last. Since Tina and C.T. were targeted in the previous episode, this sent the two directly into elimination upon losing.
C.T. revealed that he had volunteered to be one of the targets for Era 1. He said they had been losing daily challenges but had been doing considerably better during elimination challenges.
Since Era 4 won the daily challenge, they had the power to pick who would compete against C.T. and Tina. As winners from Era 4, Olivia and Kyland picked Nehemiah and Emily to compete against the former.
As part of the task, 'Getting Hammered', the players had to remove 100 nails from one board. Part two included nailing 100 more nails into another board. The first person to hit the buzzer after completing the two phases would win the challenge.
The female contestants went up first. Tina took the lead while removing the nails. By the time Emily caught up to The Challenge season 40 cast member, Tina had completed half of the second part of the task. She maintained the lead and pressed her buzzer first.
As for Nehemiah and C.T., it was a close competition. While Nehemiah was in the lead, the latter was not too far behind. However, C.T. lost and was sent packing. After the task, the male winner chimed in on defeating the famed contestant in a confessional.
"I think I just beat C.T.... For so long, I've just been wanting to be in that list of competitors... like, top competitors and... people who are remembered on The Challenge. And I think now finally starting to get some momentum and start to submit my legacy here," he said.
Fans online were upset to see Chris C.T. Tamburello get eliminated from the MTV show.
The Challenge: Battle of the Eras will air episode 6 next week on Wednesday at 8 pm ET on MTV.
