"Incredibly annoying" — The Challenge 40 fans criticize Laurel for coming at Darrell

The Challenge season 40 released its latest episode on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The four Eras competed against one another in a trivia challenge, attempting to secure a win and evade the upcoming elimination. However, only one could walk away with the winner's title.

Players had to answer trivia questions about the show while they were suspended above the water. If they answered the questions incorrectly, two people were dropped into the water. These people were those belonging to the same era as the person answering the questions.

With a tie at 1600 points, Laurel Stucky from Era 2 and Jordan Wiseley from Era 3 entered the tie-breaker round to decide the winner. After Jordan answered the question incorrectly, Laurel celebrated the victory with teammate Johnny Bananas.

After winning the challenge, Laurel slammed Darrell for nominating her as a "target" in the previous episode. She accused him of voting for her over Emily Schromm from Era 2 because the latter gave him "more massages." The Challenge season 40 fans criticized Laurel for hurling abuses at Darrell, who attempted to maintain his composure.

"Laurel is so incredibly annoying. I would love to root for her cause she’s so physically tough and dominant. But, the way she decided to childishly call out Darrell instead of enjoying and celebrating her win was so obnoxious," a fan wrote.

"God, Laurel just keep on showing your true colors babe.. Darrell was right, you ARE a bully," a netizen commented.

"Laurel is the WORST. As seasons have gone one, she’s become less and less likable," one user reacted.

The Challenge season 40 fans felt it was wrong of Laurel to bring up Darrell's private life and involve Emily in it.

"She brought his marriage up to make it seem like he’s f**king around. We all saw Darell hurt his back and Emily says that’s her job. That’s even a new low for her. She’s just spiraling out of control. Guess since she can’t find true love she doesn’t want anyone else to be happy," a netizen wrote.

"Lingering Laurel" — The Challenge star Darrell calls out cast member for targeting him

In the previous episode, Darrell and Averey placed "targets" on two players from each Era. They marked Aneesa and Derrick from Era 1, Laurel and Bananas from Era 2, Jordan and Nia from Era 3, and Jenny and Horacio from Era 4. Each Era's "targets" would be at risk of heading into elimination in case their team lost a challenge.

Since Era 4 lost the trivia challenge, Horacio and Jenny were sent to the elimination round. As winners of the daily challenge, Laurel and Bananas selected Derrick and Aneesa as Horacio and Jenny's competitors, respectively. Despite putting up a commendable fight, Aneesa and Horacio lost the task and were sent home.

Before the elimination challenge, Laurel got into a bitter argument with Darrell. Since her Era won the challenge, she verbally abused Darrell for nominating her as a "target," claiming he chose her over Emily because the latter gave him massages. The comment was inappropriate since Darrell was a married man.

"Ligering Laurel. Always, always trying to jump in conerversations. Can you just shut the f**k up?" Darrell said.

The Challenge star called her a "fake a** bully" and criticized her for trying to steer everyone's attention towards her.

"You the one who said something. Nobody was even thinking about your a**. Enjoy your win," he added.

Meanwhile, Laurel continuously mocked him by telling him he looked "stupid." Caught up in their argument, Emily later explained that being a masseuse was her job. She did not understand why Laurel called her out when she was only being professional.

"[That's] what I do for a living. So for her to call me out like that makes me realize that she thinks I'm a huge threat. Something is brewing and she wants me out," Emily stated.
