Love is Blind: Germany premiered on Friday, January 3, 2025, and saw a new set of singles join Netflix's popular social experiments in hopes of finding love. Germany's debut season saw multiple love triangles, including one between Tolga, Hannah, and Shila.
Tolga connected with both cast members while in the pods but had to pick only one. After Hannah and Shila discussed their complicated equation while in the chambers, the latter made it known that she wouldn't play Tolga's "games" and that it was time to be "decisive."
In episode 3, Tolga went on dates with both his suitresses and made his decision. While letting Hannah know that he was going to pick Shila, he said that he realized something was "going on" in his gut.
"This is incredibly difficult, because my gut and my heart are saying, uh, Shila," he added.
"I can't help it"— Hannah breaks down in tears as Tolga breaks up with her in Love is Blind: Germany episode 3
In Love is Blind: Germany episode 3, titled, All On One Card, Tolga informed Hannah about his decision to continue the experiment with Shila. He told her that it was a difficult decision because he cared about Hannah as well, and that he also had feelings for her.
"I'm trying not to cry, but I can't help it," Hannah said.
The Love is Blind: Germany male cast member apologized to Hannah but the latter didn't know what to say. Tolga told her that she was a "beautiful" woman and that he would love to meet her outside of the Netflix show for a Harry Potter night.
However, Hannah said that she wasn't going to have a Harry Potter night with Tolga because he would be married to Shila. The female cast member opened up about her conversation with Tolga in a confessional and said she was in shock.
She further added that she didn't know what the male participant was thinking, suggesting they meet up after the show. Hannah further said that she felt like Tolga was keeping her as his "second option," despite telling her she was his "number one" from the beginning.
"But I'm not someone who changes her mind from one day to the next, so I don't understand him," she said.
Hannah returned to the women's chamber and told Hanni she couldn't "do this." She added that she didn't know what to think.
Later in the episode, Tolga proposed to Shila. He told her that being on Love is Blind: Germany made him realize that love was in fact, "blind." He told her that she appreciated him and liked him for his "inner values," despite never having seen him. Shila responded by telling Tolga he came out of "nowhere," and that their connection grew from there.
"And then at some point, I just knew that it was either going to be you, or no one," Shila added.
The Love is Blind: Germany male cast member told Shila he was going to do something he had never done before and told her he was going down on "one knee." He asked Shila if she would be his wife and run away with him and the latter said "Yes." Tolga said he was "so nervous" and Shila felt the same way. The female cast member reflected on Tolga's proposal and described it as "beautiful."
"Of course you go in with hope but when it actually happens, it's totally— it's just unbelievable. Really lovely," she said.
Episodes 1 to 4 of Love is Blind: Germany are available to stream on Netflix and the next batch of episodes (5-8) are set to air on Friday, January 10, 2025.
