"Insane" — Love Island Australia fans react to Kaylah and Eric making it to the finale

Season 6 of Love Island Australia released Episode 28 on Thursday, December 12, 2024. The episode saw three couples make it to the season finale, ending the journey of the other two. The superfans voted for Niko and Mia, Em and Mercedes, and Kaylah and Eric through to the last leg of the reality show.

Before Sophie Monk, the show's host announced the results, the five remaining couples went on different dates to memorialize their time on the island. Later, Taylor and Hannah, and Dylan and Sophie were eliminated from the show after receiving the lowest votes from the superfans.

Episode 21 featured Eric's arrival as the show's last "bombshell." After mingling with the ladies he coupled up with Kaylah. Since their relationship was fairly new, Love Island Australia fans did not expect them to reach the finale, defeating cast members like Taylor, Hannah, Dylan, and Sophie, who spent a longer time inside the villa.

Consequently, netizens took to X to express their shock and share their opinions of the couple's chemistry.

"Kayla and Eric over Dylan and Sophie/ Hannah and Taylor is insane. Li aux is a joke," a fan wrote.

"I can’t even remember a word Eric has said this season and he is in finals lol," another fan commented.

"kaylah and eric in the top 3 when sophie and dylan were right there.. okay," a netizen tweeted.

Many Love Island Australia fans were unhappy with the results and unimpressed to see Kaylah and Eric in the final three.

"I'm surprised Kaylah and Eric made it to the final, I thought they'd go with Dylan and Sophie, Hannah and Taylor could of made it if Hannah wasn't sometimes a b**ch even though I like her & Sophie screwed it for her a Dylan," a user reacted.

"The way how those dates were done you could tell who was in the finale. I’m just confused about Eric and kaylor," a person commented.

"We're very solid" — Love Island Australia star Kaylah reflects on her relationship with Eric

In one of the segments of Episode 28, Kaylah and Eric went on a romantic date where they enjoyed local delicacies and champagne. Eric expressed how grateful he was to have found Kaylah inside the villa. Although their relationship was new, he felt deeply connected to the female cast member. Hearing that, Kaylah confessed:

"I feel like the fact that how far we've come and the conversations we've had already, I think we're very solid. Like, I don't think I've ever been so sure about someone, to be honest."

Eric echoed Kaylah's sentiments and asked her if she saw their relationship work outside the show. Kaylah stated she could imagine their connection sailing "seamlessly" even after the cameras stopped rolling. The Love Island Australia cast member believed they could build a future together since both were "so free-spirited."

She complimented their connection and gushed over how easily they could discuss "deep stuff, silly stuff." Eric chimed in on the conversation, saying he wanted to make their relationship work since Kaylah meant the world to him.
