In the Sister Wives episode released on November 17, 2024, Meri Brown was seen preparing to relocate from Flagstaff, Arizona, to Parowan, Utah. During an exclusive interview with People magazine on December 12, she shared her thoughts on why she left the city, offering insight into her personal journey post-divorce.

"It just wasn't for me. I moved there because the family did," Meri said sharing that she never really felt at home in Flagstaff despite living there for 3-4 years.

The Sister Wives episode showcased Meri preparing for the move, while during the interview she explained how her separation from Kody Brown and lack of personal connections in Flagstaff influenced her decision.

"I lived there for three or four years, and I never made any friends there," she added during the interview.

Moving to Parowan, where her historic family property, Lizzie's Heritage Inn, is located, allowed her to reconnect with her roots. She said that this decision marked an important moment in her life as she embraced independence from her older life in Sister Wives.

Meri’s connection to Lizzie's Heritage Inn in Sister Wives

During the interview, Sister Wives star Meri Brown opened up about her decision to leave Flagstaff, Arizona, and move to Parowan, Utah. The move brought her closer to Lizzie's Heritage Inn, a bed and breakfast that has been in her family since 1870.

Meri explained her deep emotional connection to the property, saying, “It was always a dream of mine to have my old family home back in the family.” She purchased the inn in 2017 to preserve her family’s legacy and transform it into a business. Returning to Parowan made practical sense for Meri, especially after her separation from Kody Brown. In the interview, she stated:

“Why keep living in a town where I don’t know anybody, I don’t have friends? Kody and I are completely separating. I’m not going to be a part of the family.”

According to Meri, Parowan represented stability and familiarity during a period of significant personal transition. Meri also addressed misconceptions about why she purchased Lizzie's Heritage Inn. “Contrary to popular belief in my family, I did not buy it as an escape route,” she clarified.

Meri reflected on her stay in Flagstaff in Sister Wives

Meri Brown spoke openly about her time in Flagstaff, Arizona, during the interview. When asked if she missed the city, she responded, “Nope. Not at all.” Reflecting on her years in Flagstaff, she shared that despite living there for several years, she didn't have any friends there.

Meri explained that her move to Flagstaff was based on the family’s collective decision rather than her personal choice. While she acknowledged Flagstaff’s natural beauty, calling it “beautiful” and expressing her appreciation for the trees, she admitted that it did not feel like home.

Her decision to leave Flagstaff and move to Parowan was influenced by her desire to focus on her well-being and establish a sense of belonging. Returning to Parowan, where she owns Lizzie's Heritage Inn, provided her with a connection to her family’s legacy. Discussing her perspective on this transition, Meri said:

“I think it’s really important to find your place, especially in this age that we’re in. We're all in our 50s, it's like, 'Just find your place. Do what makes you happy.'”
