Sister Wives star Meri Brown recently reflected on her relationship with Robyn Brown, sharing how her move to Utah has impacted their bond. In an exclusive interview with People on December 16, Meri opened up about the challenges both women have faced as they navigate life after significant changes in their family dynamics.
She acknowledged that while they were close in the past, they don’t talk much anymore, with both women focused on their individual lives. Meri said:
“It was really hard for her when I left, and I suspect that she’s probably just trying to figure out her life completely different than she thought that it was going to be.”
She further added:
"But just knowing that she's full-on monogamous, I'm sure that she has been trying to navigate that herself. But she and I don't have a lot of interaction."
Meri shared that her current priorities were her growth and surrounding herself with people who support her goals. She also reflected on her relationships with her other former Sister Wives, Christine, and Janelle Brown, as seen in the ongoing season 19 of Sister Wives. While Christine has shown encouragement, Meri and Janelle maintain occasional conversations.
Sister Wives star Meri addresses her dynamics with Robyn
Previously, during the December 15, episode of Sister Wives, Meri Brown expressed her concern about the lack of effort she perceived in her relationship with Robyn Brown. Reflecting on their dynamic, Meri shared that she often felt like the one putting in more effort, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“With Robyn, I feel like I’ve put in a lot, and especially over COVID, it’s like I was the one who was always calling. It wasn’t being reciprocated,” Meri said.
Meri also recalled a significant moment that left her feeling unsupported: Robyn’s absence at her mother Bonnie’s funeral in 2021.
“The fact that Robyn didn’t come to my mom’s funeral and support me in that way at that time was very hurtful to me,” she shared, highlighting her experience.
In response, Robyn addressed the situation in a confessional on Sister Wives' episode, explaining that pandemic restrictions and family obligations prevented her from attending. “I wish I could have [been there for Meri]. I love Bonnie, and I wanted to be supportive of Meri,” Robyn explained, adding that she would have gone if the circumstances had been different.
Sister Wives star Meri Brown discusses her focus on the future
Reflecting on her bond with Robyn during the People's interview, Meri Brown acknowledged that while they were close in the past, their paths have now changed.
“We were close, but I feel like right now, I’m just needing to focus on me and my future,” she shared in her interview.
This self-focus has also influenced Meri’s relationships with her other former Sister Wives. She mentioned her interaction with Christine Brown at Gwendlyn’s bridal shower was a positive moment, with Christine offering encouragement.
“I thought that was really cool. I just wanted to tell her I love you. I loved the relationship that we had in the past.” Meri said, describing the exchange as supportive.
Meri also noted that while her conversations with Janelle Brown are infrequent, they remain cordial.
“She and I have conversations on occasion. so it’s nice,” she explained, reflecting on their ability to maintain their relationship.
As Meri continues her journey, she said she remains content with her personal growth while leaving the possibility open for reconciliation. "I'm totally happy with where I am in my life as well, and I wish her all the best,” she talked about her commitment to focusing on those who support her vision for the future.
