"It's always the genuine ones" — The Circle fans react to Garret's elimination

Season 7 of The Circle released Episodes 9-12 on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. The segment saw the eliminations of two contestants, Darian in Episode 9, and Garret in Episode 11. They fell prey to the calculating tactics of Kevin and Gianna, the influencers during both blockings.

After Darian's exit, Jadejha relied on the support of her "bestie" Garret. Their closeness threatened influencers Kevin and Gianna's game plan. They knew Jadejha was a strong competitor who needed to be removed from the race to the finale. As a result, Kevin and Gianna agreed to block Garret to weaken Jadejha's position in the game since all her allies were gone.

Garret was blocked and sent packing in Episode 11. On his way out, he met with Rachel, aka Deb, and expressed how frustrated he was by the results. Fans of The Circle took to X to comment on the cast member's elimination. While some lamented Garret's exit, others criticized Kevin and Gianna for targeting a seemingly innocent player.

"Anyone watching The Circle and upset about Garrett being blocked? I bawled naur I was rooting for him so much! He is such a softie and so sweet! It's always the genuine ones," a fan wrote.

"Awww Garret. That just hurt me. He didn’t deserve that," another fan commented.

"Byeeee Garret poor Jadejha is losing all her people!!" a netizen tweeted.

Fans of The Circle complimented Garret's gameplay and were upset to see him leave the competition.

"I feel bad for Garret because he was playing a genuine game and got kicked out for bs strategy….." one user reacted.

"They keep on blocking the people with good hearts, good intentions and ones who aren’t afraid to ask the REAL questions mxm!" a person commented.

"Garret didn’t deserve what happened to him. He’s breaking my heart. Feeling isolated is such a hard thing. Blocking him made no freaking sense. But then what happened to Darian didn’t make sense. Or Andy. The people in this game better smarten up," another fan wrote.

At the same time, some fans of The Circle criticized Kevin for blocking Garret.

"I hate that #Garette was blocked sooooo sad and I don’t understand why #Gianna don’t see #kevin is keeping all his alliances and getting rid of hers “theirs” I hope this next episode a change will come," another user tweeted.

"How tf is Garret blocked on The Circle but Kevin and Madelyn are still there?" another person reacted.

"I've never seen anyone looking as sad as Garret after getting blocked Genuinely feel so bad for him," one netizen commented.

The Circle star Garret leaves with an emotional message for everyone

In Episode 10, Garret was rated last by the cast members. It fueled Kevin and Gianna's wish to eliminate him from the show. With Garret out of the picture, Jadejha would be rendered powerless. When Garret left in Episode 11, Jadejha realized the intention of the influencers, however, it only encouraged her to play more intently.

"Now, I have no one that I actually trust in The Circle, so now everyone is on my hit list," Jadejha said.

The contestants were shown Garret's exit video message the morning after the blocking. They were surprised to see that Garret was not a catfish. He was the "circus acrobat," the "cat dad" and the "crybaby" he claimed to be.

He admitted he always struggled with his identity. However, after being a part of The Circle, he felt comfortable in his skin and was proud of his journey on the show. Although it was the end of the road for him, he was pleased to have shared the experience with the cast members.

The Circle cast member revealed his strategy was to "play to the middle." He did not want the spotlight on him. However, it was unfortunate that his game plan did not help him stay in the race. Garret called out the influencers for targeting whoever was at the bottom of the ratings.

"How am I, or anyone else at the bottom of the ratings, a threat to your game? What game are you playing?" Garret said.

Nonetheless, he said he had no regrets and looked forward to meeting some of the cast members at the finale.
