On Love is Blind season 7 episode 12, Tyler had a conversation with his mother before heading to the wedding altar. He shared how he and Ashley connected with each other "through a wall" and now were soon to become husband and wife.
Tyler got emotional, and that was when his mom comforted and reassured him about his decision. She asked Tyler if he was confident in his decision to which he responded with a yes.
Tyler's mom said that he felt a lot of emotions at once because he was taking a "big step" and "normal jitters" are common before the wedding. She continued comforting him and saying that Tyler was never unsure of marrying Ashley, she said:
"But I've only heard you say, like amazing stuff about her. You know? I think it's normal. It's just normal jitters. And I've asked you how many times already. Are you sure? You're definitely sure, right? You're gonna be fine. You love her. You've never said once you weren't sure."
Later in the Love is Blind episode, the 34-year-old account manager talked about his relationship with his dad. He told his mom how he couldn't express his emotions around his father who he now considers a "random stranger." Tyler further mentioned:
"I thought about that this morning, like him not being here. He put that on himself though. There's no way I can be emotional, I guess, around him. That's a random stranger. But even grandma said it like, 'I'm glad he didn't, you know."
