“It’s triggering”— Love is Blind: Germany’s Hannah reacts to Tolga giving Shila a cupcake

Love is Blind: Germany premiered on January 4, 2025, with the first four episodes. A brand new version of the Love is Blind franchise, the Netflix series documented the participants talking in the pods, getting engaged, and going to Greece for the honeymoon phase of the experiment.

Tolga and Shila were among the couples who got engaged in the pods. But before they made the decision, Tolga was confused between Shila and Hannah. During one of his dates, Shila opened up to him about a bad experience and got emotional, stating that her past partner didn't get her a cake on her birthday.

On their next date, Tolga gifted her a cupcake and a rose to express how much he valued her. Shila was happy with the gesture and took the cake back to the women's lounge. Hannah noticed the cake and said:

"I have to be honest, of course it's triggering to see that."

Hannah felt so because Tolga claimed to care about her as well. On their dates, they had a light-hearted conversation about their love for Harry Potter. In a confessional after their date, Hannah mentioned that their common interests made her feel like "herself" in front of him.

Hannah reacts to Tolga giving Shila a cupcake on Love is Blind: Germany episode 2

When Shila received the cupcake and the rose from Tolga in episode 2, he told her that after their emotional conversation the day before, he wanted to give her a little present. He said that it was to show her that he enjoyed their time and that he was there to listen to her. Shila called his gesture "sweet" and continued saying:

"I have a huge smile on my face. It's a shame you can't see it right now."

Tolga said that he wanted to show her that she meant a lot to him. He then told her to share the cupcake with the other cast members and added that she might want to proudly show it off.

When she walked in with the cupcake and the rose, the other women in the lounge cheered her on. Shila shared the cake with the ladies, and one of them even pointed out that it tasted like a wedding cake. This awakened a napping Hannah, who saw what was going on. She took to a Love is Blind: Germany confessional to say:

"If that's how she's taking it, she doesn't know how he and I connect."

Shila was cheering herself for being the "no.1" on Tolga's list, all while looking into Hannah's direction. The episode cut on a cliffhanger, and Love is Blind: Germany episode 3 started with Shila sharing the cake with the girls as some of them called Tolga's gesture "sweet" and "cool".

Later, the Love is Blind: Germany star Shila noted that based on the conversations she had with Tolga, the two had a lot in common and she did feel a connection. However, she said it was weird to know that he was seeing someone else too. After her, Hannah shared her thoughts in a confessional:

"Of course, it's triggering to see her holding the rose the whole time and for her to be constantly smelling it so intently."

Hannah further said that she thought it was sweet of him to do such a thing for her, but she also thought she was the right woman for him.

Meanwhile, Tolga gave details of his gesture to his guy friends. He told them how Shila had opened up about her ex boyfriend who didn't get her anything on her birthday. He further said that he got her a cupcake and a rose. Having said that, Tolga mentioned in a Love is Blind: Germany confessional that he still wasn't sure which one of the two he should be going for.
