Big Brother season 26 released its latest episode on Thursday, September 5, 2024. With an impending elimination, the cast members scrambled through their connections to ensure their allies remained in the house. The three nominees, Joseph, Kimo, and Rubina, reached out to the houseguests and explained why they deserved another week on the show.
Rubina won the AI Arena competition and removed herself from the block, sending Kimo and Joseph straight into elimination. Since Joseph had the Head of Household (HoH) Quinn and his friends' favor, T'Kor, Kimo's ally, knew she had to strategize and scout votes for Kimo to elongate his stay in the house.
As a result of her efforts and an unexpected vote from Makensy, Kimo was saved while Joseph was sent packing. Joseph was declared the evictee for week seven, which shocked Quinn, who ended up breaking down.
Big Brother fans took to X to react to the surprising elimination. While some were upset to see Joseph leave, others felt he was responsible for sabotaging his game. They also commented on the vote results, claiming Joseph was blindsided.
"This week has been the quickest humbling of any BB player I feel like. Joseph was HUMBLED and sent packing," a fan wrote.
"JOSEPH GETTING EVICTED IM WINNINGGGGG," one person commented.
"i know he wasn’t for everyone, but i really enjoyed joseph and hope the fan in him appreciates being the victim of an iconic chaotic vote and a really fun season thus far. i will miss him," a netizen reacted.
Some Big Brother fans claimed Quinn lost an ally with Joseph gone.
"OMGGGGGGG 4-3 Joseph has been evicted but the trio lives on!!!!!!! Ahhhhhh Quinn lost another ally on HIS HOH! What a week y’all!" a user tweeted.
"Quinn is super upset about Joseph leaving," another fan wrote.
"Did anyone tell Quinn that it’s usually not a good idea to put your allies on the block?" one person commented.
Netizens also reacted to T'Kor, Makensy, and Chelsie's votes against Joseph, claiming it to be one of the biggest blindsides in Big Brother's history.
"YALL GIVE TKOR HER 10S NOW JOSEPH IS GONE," a user tweeted.
"watching angela campaign for kimo then mj changes her vote last minute but angela panics and evicts kimo but chelsie suddenly evicts joseph???? B*TCHHH THIS EVICTION IS GOING DOWN IN BIG BROTHER HISTORY," a netizen commented.
"I had honestly came around on Joseph but his downfall from being on his high horse on Sunday to evicted Thursday is crazy," another person wrote.
Big Brother season 26 star Joseph was evicted with four votes in his name
With two members of her trio nominated for eviction, T'Kor knew she had to seek help from the other houseguests. She thought persuading Angela to go against Joseph would be easy since he had a disagreement with her in the previous episode. However, she still needed a fourth vote to secure the majority.
Joseph got emotional before Leah and Quinn, stating he wanted to stay in the game. Leah reassured the Big Brother cast member that he would be fine since they did not want him gone either.
In the meantime, T'Kor secured Chelsie's vote, who believed keeping Joseph over Kimo would not be wise. T'Kor assured her that she was her priority with Rubina. As a result, Chelsie confirmed she would vote to evict Joseph.
In their final speeches, Joseph mentioned he was a loyal player and urged the houseguests to keep him. Meanwhile, Kimo asserted he wanted to stay and make it to the jury for the queer and Hawaiian visibility. As the results were announced, it was revealed that Makensy, T'Kor, Rubina, and Chelsie voted to keep Kimo, whereas Leah, Cam, and Angela voted to keep Joseph.
Consequently, Joseph was evicted by a 4-3 vote. While speaking with host Julie Chen Moonves, the Big Brother cast member admitted he was slightly surprised by the outcome. He claimed they wanted him gone since they saw him as a "more strategic" player than Kimo. Despite everything, he said he understood their decision.
Big Brother airs on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only on CBS.
