The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 aired episode 15, Smile, You're Being Recorded, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. In one of the segments of the episode, Britani was caught red-handed recording a sensitive conversation about Bronwyn's marriage and the ladies' opinion about it. After being confronted, Britani defended herself, saying she pressed record unintentionally but in vain.

Britani claimed she was trying to record a video to send to her daughter, Olivia, but the cast remained unconvinced. She added that she wanted to use the front camera but accidentally used the back one, making herself look suspicious. The housewives, particularly Meredith, were enraged by Britani's behavior. Meredith called her "vile" and asked her to delete the videos immediately.

Even Britani's friend, Heather, refused to side with her, struggling to believe it was an accident. While the cast pushed Britani to take accountability for her actions, she continued pleading her innocence.

Many fans of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City disapproved of Britani's behavior, claiming she recorded with intention.

"When I was little, I wrote on the door in permanent marker and lied and said I thought it was paper on the door. That lie was better than Britani’s lying about her video recording the girls," a user reacted.

"Worst invasion of privacy" — The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Heather reacts to Britani's act

Angie caught Britani recording their conversation and later discovered she had three videos in total. She confronted Britani, questioning her intentions and refusing to believe it was a mistake. The other cast members of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City were convinced Britani harbored ulterior motives, however, Britani claimed it was a recording for her daughter.

While speaking to the cameras, Heather expressed disappointment and regretted introducing Britani to her group of friends.

"It's literally the worst invasion of privacy that we can imagine. We're deeply traumatized by friendship betrayals and something like this just brings it all up to the surface," she said.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City stars criticized Britani for violating laws by recording them without their knowledge. When the group reached their destination, Britani got off the trailer and broke into tears. Although Whitney checked in on her, she struggled to believe Britani's story about not knowing how to flip the camera.

When a producer asked The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star why she recorded the back of a seat for a while, Britani said it was for only one second. However, in the next scene, a flashback proved Britani recorded for several seconds. Later, Britani confessed she deleted the videos and did not send it to anyone.
