Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars released a new episode on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. The celebrity contestants and their pro dancers returned to the ballroom for the show's iconic Disney Night, where they had to participate in a team dance in addition to their respective performances.

The remaining eight pairs put their best foot forward to impress the judges and the audience, vying to secure immunity and progressing to the following rounds of the competition. Last week, former NFL player Danny and his pro partner Witney secured the highest scores from the judges, alongside Bachelor Joey, ending their night at the top of the leaderboard.

In the latest segment, Danny and Witney continued their winning streak, finding themselves at the top of the list tied with Chandler Kinney. The pair performed a jazz routine to Deadpool & Wolverine's viral song Bye Bye Bye.

However, Dancing with the Stars fans were divided by Danny's Disney-themed performance. They took to X to share their thoughts. While some complimented the choreography, others criticized the lack of dance in the routine.

"i’m sorry but i didn’t really like danny and whitney’s dance… it didn’t feel like a dance at all, they were just doing tricks nonstop they were generous with the 9s," a fan wrote.
"DANNY AND WHITNEY ATE AGAIN THAT WAS SO ENTERTAINING," another fan commented.
"Don’t get me wrong, Danny’s dance was fun as hell, but tied for top score with Chandler??" a netizen tweeted.

Some Dancing with the Stars fans complimented Danny's performance, satisfied with the score he received.

"NGL DANNY IS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I WOULD SAY WITNEY DID THAT NO SHADE !!!! IT WAS FUN. I LOVE IT !!!!" a user reacted.
"Witney’s choreography for Danny is always FANTASTIC!! How do they get better every week?" a person commented.
"THE BEST DANCE THIS SEASON! Danny is this seasons dark horse and I’m here for it," another fan wrote.

At the same time, many Dancing with the Stars fans were critical of Danny and Witney's act, claiming it was packed with stunts rather than dance moves.

"Danny is making the biggest growth of anyone in this competition but this dance was not it. Too many acrobatics, his arms were stiff and he literally walked from move to move - no flow at all. I fear this is a step back. Geez," a user tweeted.
"I also still feel like Danny just isn’t finishing his movements. Like there’s no snap in his movements. Anyone else?" another person reacted.
"listen, some of those moves were impressive. but, almost that entire dance was danny throwing whitney around like a doll and them fake punching???? i was just expecting more DANCING," one netizen commented.

What did judges say about Danny and Witney's performance in latest Dancing with the Stars episode?

Danny and his professional dance partner Witney took over the ballroom with a jazz routine to Deadpool & Wolverine's Bye Bye Bye. Danny embodied the character of Deadpool while Witney dressed as Wolverine.

The audience cheered and applauded as the duo maneuvered across the stage, performing stunts and acrobatics, paying homage to the movie's chaotic fight sequence.

The Dancing with the Stars pair pulled off gravity-defying lifts and jumps, adding thrill to the viewers' experience. Both fans and the judges were in awe of their choreography.

Bruno Tonioli was impressed that Danny and Witney "incorporated really everything from the opening of the movie in a wonderful, wonderful way." He added it was a "great tribute to the excitement of Marvel."

Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough chimed in, agreeing with Bruno. He complimented the pair's performance, convinced they had a "viral hit" on their hands. Meanwhile, Carrie Ann Inaba was mesmerized by Danny's confidence on stage. All three judges scored Danny's dance a 9, bringing his total to a 27 out of 30.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC and Disney+.
