Kelsey Anderson opens up about taking a break from social media after the Bachelor alum's friend passed away

Former The Bachelor star Kelsey Anderson opened up about why she made the decision to stay off of social media earlier this month. On November 25, Anderson shared in a since-expired Instagram Story that she's been off social media for the "past couple of days" before encouraging people to vote. She also clarified that she and her fiance, fellow Bachelor alum Joey Graziadei, "are good."

In an interview with E! News, published on Wednesday, November 27, she revealed the real reason for her social media hiatus. She said:

"A friend of mine passed away. It was a shock because I had just seen them the week before."

Previously, chatter from fans was about her possibly having trouble with Graziadei because of his partnership with Jenna Johnson in Dancing with the Stars. However, it turns out that the reality TV star was experiencing a different kind of heartbreak, and staying off of social media allowed her to spend quality time with people close to her. She added:

"Moments like these you remember how precious life is. And to remind the people around you how much you love them."

After her brief return to social media to clarify her and Graziadei's relationship status, the latter also detailed why she took a break from social media. He told E! News on November 13:

"I feel like she has been active. I think the whole thing came from one or two days that she wasn't active, and people assumed something for some reason. It was during a time where she was just taking a little break and that was for her own mentally, and I guess people assumed stuff."

He also clarified then that he and Kelsey Anderson are "great" and that they will "keep doing what [they] do."

After spending a couple of days away from social media, following her friend's death, Kelsey Anderson has since been active on Instagram. She's graced her fans with a look at her morning skincare routine in a November 5 Instagram reel. She also celebrated her one-year anniversary with Joey Graziadei, who she called "the man of my dreams," in an Instagram tribute on November 13.

Alongside a series of pictures of her and the Bachelor alum, including the time when he proposed to her on the reality show and a close-up of her diamond ring, Anderson wrote:

"One year of laughter, learning, and lots of love. Can't wait to do it again with you!"

Kelsey Anderson also gushed about Graziadei in the tribute post. She further wrote in the caption:

"Happy anniversary to the man of my dreams. A man who is patient, kind, and always gives 1000% in everything he does. I'm so grateful for your love, your support, and the way you make every day brighter."

Kelsey Anderson opened up about how she and Graziadei support each other after their Bachelor journey in a new episode of The Squeeze podcast with Taylor Lautner. In the teaser video, shared on her and the podcast's official Instagram on Wednesday, November 27, the reality TV star also opened up about losing her mom to breast cancer and what she did to help navigate the grief.
