The Bachelorette season 21 premiered on Monday, July 8, 2024. The segment introduced fans to the franchise's first-ever Asian-American frontrunner, Jenn Tran, who previously appeared in Joey Graziadei's season of The Bachelor.

Jenn only kissed one person in the first episode, with Sam M being the recipient of the First Impression Rose. Before handing him the rose, Jenn told the contestant that she felt there was something between them and she couldn't stop thinking about him. Fans of the show shared their two cents online. Sam M. receives the first impression rose and the first kiss of The Bachelorette season 21

In The Bachelorette season 21, after the frontrunner was introduced to all her suitors, she had to decide who made the best first impression. When the 27-year-old contractor, Sam M., exited the limousine and introduced himself to her, he asked her to picture her life 50 years from when they met.

"Waking up on a Saturday morning, to me cooking breakfast, and I just have one thing to ask you, with two shots in my hand, do you know what time it is? It's shot-O-clock," Sam said.

Fans got to know a little bit more about the contestant during his introduction video. During the clip, Sam said he loved building homes and getting his hands dirty. He added that his goal in life was to find a girl he could fall in love with.

He revealed that he had been in a relationship with a girl he had known since middle school. The two were engaged but his ex-fiancée cheated on him. He called it the "biggest heartbreak" he had experienced but noted that it didn't stop him from chasing his dreams. Sam added that he was excited to get to know the ABC star.

Later in the episode, Jenn walked into the mansion where her 25 suitors were seated and in private, handed Sam M., the first impression rose. The Bachelorette season 21 star told him she had been thinking about him all night.

"I don't always pick the right men but there's something in my gut that's just telling me that you know there's something here. I'm really excited about it and I'm really excited to get to know you a lot more," Jenn said.

She gave him the first impression rose and the two shared a kiss. Fans of the show took to social media to chime in on the segment and called it the kiss of the century.

The Bachelorette season 21 will air episodes weekly on Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
