"Lack of options"— Johnny Bananas chimes in on Love Island USA couple Kordell and Serena

Love Island USA is currently airing season 6 and drops episodes from Thursdays to Tuesdays. It recently wrapped up its famous Casa Amor segment, during which new singles joined the group in hopes of securing their spots on the show.

One such bombshell was Sydney Leighton, who recently sat down for a chat with The Challenge celebrity Johnny Bananas during an episode of his podcast, Death, Taxes, and Bananas.

The two talked about Casa Amor and several cast members during the episode. One couple they touched upon was Serena and Kordell, and the drama that ensued after Casa Amor when Kordell brought Daia back into the villa. While discussing the beginning of their relationship, Johnny Bananas said:

"It seemed like, him and Serena, almost kinda got together as the season went on out of more like, kinda, lack of options or just like a persistency situation more than a natural chemistry."

While discussing Love Island USA season 6, The Challenge star Johnny Bananas and Casa Amor bombshell Sydney discussed the post-Casa Amor recoupling ceremony. The MTV star said he felt "bad" for Kordell and that he had the "longest walk of shame."

Sydney compared the walk to walking up to "the gates of Hell" for the men since their partners sat and awaited their arrivals, knowing that they "f*cked up." Bananas added that even as a viewer, he was affected by the ceremony, which had him reach for his "emotional support blanket."

After commenting about Serena and Kordell getting together due to a lack of options, Bananas recalled their journey together and said that Serena didn't choose him in the beginning. He added she chose Coye, and he felt like she "wasn't all in" with Kordell. Sydney agreed with Bananas and said:

"So she literally went in and she was like "listen, I've been watching you and it seems like we have a lot of similarities, I'm really into you. I'm gonna prove it to you in the next four days," and he was like, "okay cool.""

Sydney added that Daia proved she liked the Love Island USA season 6 cast member and was "all about him." The Casa Amor bombshell added that Kordell and Daia talked a lot and were bonding and had nice moments apart from the "dry humping" which was shown on Peacock.

"They were acting like they were an old couple," Sydney continued.

Comparing Kordell's time in Casa Amor to Serena kissing islanders during challenges, Bananas said it was the same thing. He explained Serena "actively" engaged in the kissing challenges involving "physical" activities.

"So what I don't understand is how all of a sudden, that is excusable but then if you decide to kiss the person outside of a game, it's somehow the worst possible thing on Earth," Johnny Bananas said.

Chiming in on reality dating shows, he said Love Island USA star Kordell's actions shouldn't have been a "death sentence." Comparing Serena and Daia's approach towards Kordell, Sydney said the latter went in and "did her job" and ensured she had a place in the villa. She said Kordell coupling up with Daia was "iconic" and that he was honest about his feelings towards Serena but wanted to give the bombshell a chance.

For the unversed, during Love Island USA season 6, Kordell went into Casa Amor and bonded with Daia, although he already had a connection with Serena. As he got closer to her and decided to sleep in the same bed, Serena slept outside instead of choosing to share a bed with another islander.

Serena was sent a video showing Kordell and Daia in bed. She was hurt by his actions and chose to remain single during the recoupling ceremony. Kordell, on the other hand, coupled up with Daia. The former couple clashed but eventually rekindled their romance.
