"Looking really messy" — Love After Lockup fans react to Zeruiah discussing financial issues with Troy

Love After Lockup season 5 released a new segment, Life After Lockup, on Friday, October 4, 2024. The latest episode, Life After Lockup: Welcome Home? saw the couples adjust to everyday life outside prison. Each pair hoped to start afresh, vying to enjoy a healthy and problem-free lifestyle. However, not everyone could achieve that goal.

Troy was bombarded with shocking news soon after he returned home from jail. Zeruiah informed him they were months behind on office rent and had no money to cover other expenses. Troy was surprised to learn they could not access the office until the due was paid.

With around $7000 in debt, Zeruiah surrendered saying she had no solution for their problem. Troy was furious with her for not telling him sooner. Soon, he stormed out of the house, claiming he had other means of getting his hands on the money. It worried Zeruiah, who feared her partner would partake in something illegal.

"Didn’t Zeruiah go off on Troy for supposedly keeping information from her? But you don’t tell him you’re 2 months behind on rent & about to get evicted? Girl, you’re looking really messy!" a fan wrote.

"So Zeuriah & Troy don’t have actual jobs, right? Cause that’s what I’m getting," another fan commented.

"Troy & Zeruiah not knowing how the bills will get paid wearing all that jewelry is craz!" a netizen tweeted.

Many Love After Lockup fans criticized Zeruiah for not informing Troy and budgeting the money improperly.

"Heffa if you couldn’t pay the rent for the business, why did you pick Troy up with a money bouquet," a user reacted.

"Chilleee! All this time Zeriuah had to tell Troy about the business and she’s keeping it from him now that he’s out and here," one person commented.

Meanwhile, some Love After Lockup fans urged Troy to get a different job and separate his finances from Zeruiah's.

"Troy needs to go work at FedEx or something, that man needs a regular 9 hours away from Zeriuah. She be stressing me out and I see her once a week, lawd," a person reacted.

Love After Lockup star Troy felt disrespected by Zeruiah's decision to keep finances under wraps

In the latest segment of Love After Lockup, Zeruiah shocked Troy by informing him about their financial situation. Troy discovered that his partner had not paid the rent for their office for the past two months. Zeruiah explained that "a problem in the contract and invoicing" caused the whole issue.

"So you know we won't be able to be at the office until I get that straightened out," she added.

During a confessional, the Love After Lockup star stated she kept their financial dealings under wraps, convinced she could figure it out herself. However, she ended up with a $7000 debt. Since she had never experienced a situation like that, she did not know how to go about it.

While speaking to the cameras, Zeruiah said that budgeting and gathering money for rent was a "learning process" for her. Since they could not even get their paychecks, Troy wondered how they would fund their everyday activities.

"I just feel like very very disrespected. About a year ago, there was infidelity in our marriage on Zeruiah's behalf. So, coming from that and now my wife not telling me about the rent, what else are you not telling me?" Troy said.

The Love After Lockup star stormed out of the house, frustrated by Zeruiah's behavior. He left to care for his "business," stating it was his responsibility to fend for them. He added that sometimes one had to do the "wrong things for the right reasons."
