Love After Lockup aired episode 51, Sugar Mama Drama, on Friday, December 13, 2024. The episode documented each cast member's struggles while trying to maintain a relationship with an incarcerated person. Among them was 27-year-old event bartender, Savannah, who was dating her former dealer, Bradly.

Savannah had a history of addiction and only recently achieved sobriety after years of therapy. Consequently, her decision to pursue a relationship with her former dealer did not sit right with her family, especially her mother. Moreover, Bradly was a convicted felon, charged with the transportation of firearms.

Although Savannah assured her mother that she had nothing to worry about, she feared Bradly's company would provoke her daughter to return to her old habits, putting her life in danger. Love After Lockup fans echoed her mother's concerns. They took to X to criticize Savannah for dating her former dealer. Netizens were shocked to see her make such a decision.

"I'm scared" — Love After Lockup star Savannah's mother fears a relapse

Savannah's mother and friends firmly opposed her relationship with Bradly, considering they had never been together sober outside of prison. Although Bradley's sister warned Savannah about his ill intentions with her, the female cast member remained deeply in love with him.

In one of the segments of Love After Lockup episode 51, Savannah's mother, Chenoa asked Bradly about his life goals over the phone. She planned to know what he wished to do after his release, so she could keep her daughter protected and ensure that she was not walking down any wrong paths.

Chenoa even suggested that the Love After Lockup couple get counseling since their behavior toward each other was "pretty toxic."

While speaking to the cameras, Savannah confessed that her mother's concerns about her future and addiction were "fair" since she was dating her "weed dealer." In the meantime, Chenoa revealed that she knew what went on inside prisons. Consequently, she doubted that Bradly had maintained his sobriety behind bars.

She told her daughter that although she had faith in Bradly, she worried he would repeat his old habits once released from prison.

"I went down that road before and I'm scared. I'm the one who got the phone calls. You don't know if your child's gonna live or die the next day," Savannah's mother said.

Chenoa worried that Bradly would return and cause her daughter to relapse. She believed Savannah would follow Bradly down the path of addiction because she loved him deeply. However, Savannah reassured her mother, asking her to have faith in her.
