"Lot of lying" - Love is Blind: Argentina star Evangelina opens up about her parents' turbulent relationship

Love is Blind: Argentina premiered on October 6 on Netflix. The experiment brought together a new batch of Latin American singles to find the love that did not care about the looks of a person.

Evangelina was one of the hopeful singles on the show and shared a connection with Roberto. She had a hard time trusting men in her relationship and after a "bit of self-reflecting," she realized that her family history might be the reason.

"I did a bit of self-reflecting, and I think I have a hard time opening up whenever I meet a new guy, but I think it's due to something with my history. There's a pattern in my family. Growing up, there was always a lot of lying," she told Roberto.

Love is Blind: Argentina star Evangelina and Roberto open up about their past

On one of her dates with Roberto in Love is Blind: Argentina episode 3, Evangelina shared a vulnerable part of her past and revealed how her family history was shaping her current approach to relationships.

She believed that her difficulty with opening up to new romantic partners stemmed from her experiences growing up with her parents. She shared that she sensed a pattern in her family and there was "a lot of lying".

Love is Blind: Argentina star further recounted that her parents got separated 9 years ago due to her father’s infidelity. The split broke her mother and was left in tears.

Evangelina's family history has made her very cautious as she doesn't want to repeat similar experiences of betrayal and dishonesty in her future relationships.

"My parents got separated about nine years ago. I remember, at that time, I saw my mom crying a lot. My dad wasn't always faithful to my mom, and I don't want to experience that with my partner," Evangelina shared in her confessional.

Evangelina told Roberto that she had a hard time opening up to people. She believed that this side of her could be interpreted as a lack of interest.

Roberto appreciated her openness about such a vulnerable part of her past. He told her that he hadn't felt much of a connection on their first date; however, after their recent dates, he felt the exact opposite.

The Love is Blind: Argentina star further added that intimacy was somewhat complicated for him to discuss with someone. He expressed that he was a shy person, but Evangelina made him feel extremely comfortable.

Roberto talks about his sister and his nephew

Evangelina wanted to know more about her Love is Blind: Argentina partner and asked him about his relationship with his family. Roberto first talked about his father and shared that he passed away in 2016. The 28-year-old rancher then dwelled into one of his recent experiences with his sister.

Roberto told Evangelina that his sister had a son who was born prematurely. Four days after the birth his sister had a heart attack. While the doctors were able to save her she still needed help to recover. He shared that he currently takes care of his sister and takes her to all her therapies and rehabs.

"Four days after all that happened, his mother, my sister, she had a heart attack. They were able to bring my sister back, and now I take care of her. I go with her to all her therapies, to the rehab that she needs. So yeah, I really miss them right now," Roberto shared

Roberto and Argentina got engaged at the end of episode 3 and joined the rest of the couple on their honeymoon location.
