Sophie Piper and Joshua Ritchie have made headlines after getting into a car crash amidst discussions of the ongoing Love Island season 11 and Love Island USA season 6.
The Love Island veteran Sophie first appeared on season 6 of the show and made a comeback on the All-Star version that aired earlier this year. Here, she met Joshua, who came from season 1 of the show, and they became an instant pair.
The duo got into an accident over the weekend, where their car collided with another. Fortunately, passengers from none of the cars suffered any serious injuries.
Love Island star Joshua Ritchie documented his car crash on Snapchat
Giving his fans and followers insights on what went down at the collision sight, Joshua documented the crash on his Snapchat handle. He said that he and Sophie were going to a friend's 30th birthday bash when their taxi collided with another car. He then asked Sophie:

"Sophie have you got whiplash?"
He then said his neck was hurting and kept rubbing it as he spoke to his followers. He then asked after the passengers of the other car to check if they were okay. He then said:
"Oh god. Well, honestly my f*cking neck is hurting".
He then asked the passengers of the other car if their necks were hurting too, before saying:
"That really hurt that. I seen it coming as well".
Joshua then flipped the camera to reveal Sophie, who was also laughing and keeping the spirits up. She was sitting in the front seat next to the driver while Joshua sat in the back with a friend. When he filmed her following the collision, she was chatting with the driver.
Sophie Piper and Joshua Ritchie's run on Love Island All-Star
Sophie Piper, 25, and Joshua Ritchie, 30, met on Love Island All-Star season 1 which premiered on January 15, 2024. Sophie had come from season 6 of the show, which came out in January 2020. Meanwhile, Joshua belonged to the season that laid the foundation for the franchise, i.e. season 1, which came out in June 2015.
They came in third place in the series, which was won by Tom Claire and Molly Smith. The winners won after an interesting twist which had Molly sleep under the same roof as her ex-boyfriend Callum while she was in the villa.
After their smooth run on the recent All-Stars version of the show, Sophie and Joshua got into a relationship and remained a couple even after the show ended. The confirmation of their relationship still going strong came when the duo recently celebrated Joshua's birthday together. In an Instagram birthday post dedicated to Joshua, Sophie said:
"Still can’t get my head around not knowing you less than four months ago and now I can’t imagine life without you! I love being your best friend and I’m so lucky I get to laugh with you everyday".
They continue posting pictures together on their Instagram since Love Island All-Stars finished airing, which confirms their lasting bond.
