“Maturity”— Love is Blind star Katie explains why she “dropped” Nick in the pods

Love is Blind season 7 episodes 10 and 11 premiered on October 16 on Netflix. The experiment helped a new batch of singles find love without caring about a person's looks.

Nick and Hannah were among the couples who got engaged in the pods. They joined other engaged couples on a honeymoon week in Mexico to gain a better understanding of their future life partners.

After their Mexcian holiday, the Love is Blind couples reunited in episode 10 with some of their former prospects from the pods. Nich sat down with one of his connections, Katie, and asked her the reason why she "dropped" him after they formed a bond in the pods. Katie answered:

"There is nothing I want you to take personal from what I'm about to say, but when it comes to, like, maturity, I didn't think you were quite there."

Love is Blind season 7 star Katie explains her reasons for ending things with Nick

Katie returned alongside Bohdan and joined the engaged couples as they were preparing for their upcoming wedding ceremony. Katie and Nick decided to clear things out after the connection they had formed in the pods.

Katie told Nick in Love is Blind season 7 episode 10 that he was the type of guy she usually dates and did not care about their age differences. She further added that he gave her goosebumps, and he was her number one for 3 days.

Nick reciprocated her feelings and told his former Love is Blind suitor that she was his number one and had found her very attractive. Despite their strong connection, the real estate agent was curious and asked Katie why she didn’t pursue their relationship further.

Katie shared that she felt that Nick wasn't mature to a certain extent. She believed that he wasn't taking their conversation seriously. She added:

"I thought we got to a good point, and then at the end, it was, like, 'My mom's friends f**k with me. Like, older women really f**k with me.' I'm like, 'Damn. He didn't hear a word I just said.' And beyond that was the objectifying. Like that date you were like, 'I just know you're sexy.''

To this, Nick explained he is sarcastic most of the time and likes to joke around. However, when he commented, "That's sexy," it wasn't meant to be taken literally, but rather in a lighthearted, casual way.

Katie shares her observation on Nick's presentation of himself

Later in their episode 10 conversation, Katie shared her observations about Nick and suggested to him how he could present himself in conversation with other people. She believed that Nick leads with his "charm and charisma" way too much, and could instead lead with his "beautiful and deep" side. She added:

"I remember talking about your family, and they just sounded amazing. I know you are this person that's filled with values. I think you're this person that's filled with a whole heart. Lead with that, right?

The Love is Blind star further elaborated that, according to her, Nick pressing his charm and charismatic side was a "defense mechanism" that might be coming from a "place of insecurity".

However, she believed that Nick was a "whole package" and was proud of the growth he made on the show with his Love is Blind season 7 fiance. Talking about this growth, he shared:

"I'm happy where I'm at. I've learned to mature and be socially aware and, like, be aware of the words I say. I've learned a lot to grow as a man and mature."
