"MILEAH OFFICIAL"— Love Island USA fans celebrate Leah and Miguel being in a relationship

Love Island USA season 6 aired its reunion special on Monday, August 19, 2024. During the segment, host Ariana Madix asked the cast members about what life had been like since the show ended, including whether they were still dating the people they met on the show.

One such couple was Leah and Miguel, who were the runner-up couples in season 6. While Leah entered the show on Day 1, Miguel entered as a bombshell on Day 9. Although the two coupled up with different people initially, they two coupled up with one another on Day 15 for the first time on the show.

Ariana Madix asked the couple whether they were still together during the reunion special. Miguel revealed that he flew to New York to surprise Leah on her birthday and asked her to be his girlfriend. Fans of the show took to social media to react to the news of the couple being together outside the show. One person wrote on X:

Love Island USA season 6 fans chimed in on the recap of the show, and felt that production was doing Leah "dirty" by playing more clips of the female cast member with Rob than they did with Miguel:

"Production showed more Rob & Leah than Miguel & Leah on the season trailer. SMH. They stay doing her dirty. #loveislandusa," a person wrote.

"Why in that recap did we see a lot of Leah & Rob but no Leah & Miguel? Also why did it make me cry? #LoveIslandUSA," a fan commented.

Leah and Miguel confirm their relationship in Love Island USA season 6 reunion special

Love Island USA season 6 aired its reunion special on Monday, August 19, during which the cast members provided insights about their lives after the show. Ariana asked the runner-up couple, Leah and Miguel how they had been since the Peacock show ended.

Miguel said they had been "really good" and that they FaceTimed every day when he returned to London. He added that he visited Leah in New York as he tried to organize a "special surprise" for the Love Island USA cast member.

"He was trying to like, bamboozle me," Leah said.

Miguel stated he felt "really bad" and that he included Serena in planning the surprise along with him. Leah added that she told the female Love Island USA season 6 star that she didn't like surprises. Serena joked that she told Miguel that if Leah started "swinging" he'd have to "take it."

"Yeah, I had a little card. In that card, I did, like, a big old speech. And then I asked her to be my girlfriend," Miguel said.

Fans of the show took to social media to celebrate the couple and were glad they made it out outside the show. However, they were upset with production for not showing enough clips of Miguel and Leah as they revisited season 6 at the beginning of the segment.
