Season 47 of Survivor released a new episode on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The segment saw the cast members blindside Rome, eliminating him from the competition series. Rome was confident about his strategy and knowledge of everyone else's gameplay. However, things did not unfold as planned since he turned out to be their main target, while he continued campaigning for the eviction of his enemies.
The castaways were unhappy with Rome's behavior and tendency to ruffle feathers by turning people against one another with fabricated stories. In the latest episode, Rome attempted to project Kyle as the conspirator, by saying he spoke ill of Caroline and Sue. He also revealed to Tiyana and Sam that they were Kyle's biggest threats, hoping to turn them against him. However, Kyle came clean to the castaways in Rome's absence, insisting Rome was twisting his words.
After the pre-merge challenge, the players unanimously decided to target Rome, tired of his habit of causing friction among tribesmates. When Kyle won immunity, Rome made a last-minute attempt to target Sol— however, his plan failed. Consequently, he was evicted from the show with six votes against him.
Survivor fans were pleased by the outcome. They took to X to celebrate Rome's exit.
"the most satisfying vote out. rome is a great villain who didn’t need to move any further," a fan wrote.
"That was such a satisfying tribal. Buh-Bye Rome," another fan wrote.
"BYE BYE ROME!!!!" a netizen tweeted.
Survivor fans were pleased to see Rome leave the competition. They claimed he appeared overconfident and tried too hard to sabotage other people's gameplay.
"Because he has zero social awareness. He’s so overly confident he couldn’t even possibly imagine a scenario where people might discuss voting him out. His ego was through the roof," a user reacted.
"Finally that a**hole Rome is voted out from #survivor he’s so bad to watch almost dropped the whole season altogether!" a person commented.
"Rome...whew. If i had a coworker at my job like him i'd probably quit. No way i could deal with a Know it All every friggin day," another fan wrote.
"Rome voted out of #Survivor just before the merge is exactly what he deserved! So despicable and annoying! Good riddance," one user tweeted.
Many other Survivor fans shared the same sentiment, dissatisfied with Rome's strategies.
"I can enjoy the season again!. Sorry not sorry! Rome was very annoying to me!" a person reacted.
"Rome has finally fallen! He was just too much was never gonna make it through the merge. Maybe could’ve made it work but Saul was against him and Kyle winning immunity just ruined any game he had going," another netizen commented.
What led to Rome's elimination from Survivor season 47?
In the latest episode of Survivor, Gata and Lavo tribes were asked to take their belongings and head to their new home at Tuku for the merge stage of the game. Once all the players assembled in the same place, they started interacting, vying to fish for information about one another.
Rome took it upon himself to gather data from the other tribes. He inquired from Sue about Caroline's plan with the Amulet. He also learned that Kyle saw Sam and Tiyana as the biggest threats, and stated that Caroline and Sue "aren't doing well socially."
Rome disclosed the information to Sue, hoping she would trust him over Kyle. The Survivor cast member also informed Sam and Tiyana about Kyle's confessions. Soon, Tiyana asked Sol and Andy if Rome's words were true, to which Sol replied, "This is what Rome does." Later, Kyle revealed to everyone in Rome's absence that the latter was twisting his words, attempting to throw him under the bus.
For the pre-merge challenge, Rome was paired with Caroline, Andy, Gabe, Tiyana, and Sol in the blue team. Despite a commendable attempt, the blue team lost while the yellow team won and earned a meal reward. Later, Kyle won the individual challenge and was granted immunity from the elimination.
The winning team members unanimously decided to vote out Rome during the feast. Meanwhile, Rome planned to target Sol since Kyle was immune. The Survivor star used "crocodile tears" to convince Caroline and Tiyana to see Sol as an aggressive player. Despite his ardent campaigning, Genevieve ensured that their primary target remained Rome. As a result, he was eliminated from the show.
Survivor season 47 airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET, exclusively on CBS.
