Season 47 of Survivor released its latest episode on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. As the survivalist competition series ended its in-game week, it bid farewell to another contestant. After TK Foster's elimination the previous week, episode 3, Belly of the Beast, sent Aysha Welch packing.
Tension rocketed at the Lavo tribe as the castaways struggled to work as a cohesive unit. Rome was suspicious of the secret alliances his teammates had. He also felt threatened by Aysha and Sol's gameplay, claiming they were "running the show" at Lavo. Consequently, he had his target fixed on them. However, he pinpointed Aysha as his main target because he did consider her a team player.
After losing the immunity challenge, the Lavo tribe castaways headed to the tribal council, where Rome solidified his alliance with Teeny, Genevieve, and Kishan, turning them against Aysha. As a result of his efforts, Aysha was sent home after receiving three votes against her. Despite joining forces with Rome, Teeny tried to save Aysha by voting against Sol. However, it was not enough.
Survivor 47 fans were upset to see Aysha leave and took to X to criticize team Lavo's gameplay.
"I’ve never been more pissed than to see Aysha go home Rome needs to go soon! They will end up regretting this decision," a fan wrote.
"I hope @AyshaLikeAsia knows how proud we are of her! I hope she gets a second chance one day if she wants to!" another fan commented.
"We will never recover from this," a netizen tweeted.
Many Survivor 47 fans were disappointed with the elimination results. They claimed Aysha did not deserve the blindside.
"A victim of circumstance. It sucks to lose anyone who could’ve been a great player and character to a roll of the producers’ dice. Aysha shined for three more episodes than any of us deserved in the first place," a user reacted.
"So glad America got to get introduced to this iconic queen! Your time to shine was cut short but girl did you shine bright!!" a person commented.
"goodbye, goodbye, goodbye you were bigger than the whole sky," another fan wrote.
"I’m glad we got this moment. I’m glad she was pissed and didn’t just smile and take it. I’m glad she said a small part of what we were all thinking. Aysha deserved better," a user tweeted.
Meanwhile, many Survivor 47 fans criticized Rome and the other Lavo teammates who conspired against Aysha's eviction.
"I need Lavo to LOSE EVERY immunity going forward! Aysha will be avenged!" a person reacted.
"Also Mr Kishan laughing and giggling and smirking about Aysha’s boot. At least Teeny had the decency to appear a little bummed out. I’m watching you," another netizen commented.
Survivor 47 star Aysha wanted to save Sol unaware she was Rome's target
In the latest episode, one contestant from each tribe participated in a task that could either earn them an advantage or a disadvantage. Rome was the chosen castaway from team Lavo, whereas Kyle was selected from Tuku and Anika volunteered from Gata. They were taken to an isolated island, where they were presented with three bags.
One contained an advantage and the others contained a Lose Your Vote punishment. Kyle and Anika stopped after they got the disadvantage in their first draw. However, Survivor 47 star Rome secured the advantage in his first attempt, earning a Steal a Vote that could prevent someone from voting, giving him the power of a second vote.
Upon returning to his tribe, Rome lied to his teammates, saying he drew the disadvantage. However, he disclosed the truth to Teeny, causing them to consider it wise to team up with him, Kishan, and Genevieve, as Rome also possessed the tribe's idol.
Soon, the tribes participated in the immunity challenge. Gata came first, while Tuku came in second. Lavo struggled to champion the task, entering their first tribal council. During a conversation with Aysha, Teeny attempted to warn her that Rome was after her, extending an olive branch to keep her from harm's way. It was Teeny's way of requesting the Survivor 47 cast member to work against Sol, Rome's other target.
In the meantime, Rome solidified an alliance with Sol, convincing him to vote against Aysha. He reassured Sol that they would save him because he was a strong contender and an important asset to their tribe. However, Sol struggled to trust Rome completely. On the contrary, Kishan and Teeny informed Aysha that Rome would use his idol for himself or Genevieve, urging her to save herself by targeting Sol.
Aysha dismissed their plan and was set on voting out Genevieve. Teeny and Kishan gave up, unable to persuade the Survivor 47 cast member. Soon, the castaways began voting. Host Jeff Probst announced that Aysha received three votes against her and was booted from the show. On her way out, she admitted that the outcome had hurt her.
Survivor 47 airs every Wednesday at 8 pm ET on CBS.
