"Nightmare MIL"— Love is Blind UK fans criticize Jasmine's mother for calling Bobby "uneducated"

Netflix's Love is Blind UK season 1 aired episodes 5 to 9 on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. As part of the phase of the social experiment, the couples met each others' families before they made their decisions about their futures together.

In episode 9 of the Netflix series, Bobby and Jasmine invited the latter's mother over for a meal so she could have a chance to meet Bobby. Marisa, Jasmine's mother had questions about the male cast member's education, finances, and more and was unhappy when she found out Bobby didn't attend university.

"It's sometimes difficult to have a conversation with an uneducated person," she said.

Fans of the show took to social media to react to the interaction and were unhappy with Marisa's behavior. One person wrote on X:

Love is Blind UK: Jasmine's mother grills Bobby in episode 9

In Love is Blind UK season 1 episode 9, Jasmine's mother came to the couple's apartment so she could get to know Bobby better. However, she was unhappy with the cast member's lack of education and stated that being with an educated person was better.

She also asked him about their future living situation and when Bobby said they would move to London, she wondered how they would afford it. The Love is Blind UK star mentioned that in the future, he and Jasmine might move abroad but Jasmine's mother wanted them to live close.

Marisa stated that she and Jasmine were close and that she was "involved" in her daughter's life. She added that she wanted Jasmine to share her secrets with her and not her friends. After an intense round of questioning, Jasmine stepped in and told her mother she would not be telling her every argument she and Bobby would have. While her mother insisted on it, Jasmine said:

"That's gonna put you off of him, and he's gonna be the father of, you know, your future grandchildren. We can't be doing these things where I'm telling you every single argument."

The Love is Blind UK star's mother asked Jasmine if she was sure about marrying Bobby and she said yes. Marisa also warned Bobby about keeping secrets from them.
