“No way”- Love After Lockup fans react to Joey’s job interview

Love After Lockup season 5 premiered in September 2023 and released episode 43 on October 18, 2024. Titled Ring & Run! the episode saw Louie make a decision to buy Melissa a ring. The episode also saw Joey going for a job interview at an AC services office.

In a Love After Lockup confessional, he revealed that he was going for the interview because he wanted to have his own money. He added that Kimberly had been pushing him to get a job so they could buy their dream house.

During the interview, the interviewer explained to Joey that he would have to go to people's houses to troubleshoot the issues with their ACs. However, when the interviewer found out about the Love After Lockup star's felon status, he said that the company might not give him the job. Joey tried to convince the interviewer that he was willing to do whatever job they had for him, but it is unclear if the interviewer responded to that.

When fans saw the episode, they wondered why Joey thought he would get a job going inside people's houses given his background. They took to X to say that even if Joey did get the job, he wouldn't "do right with the money."

Others called the Love After Lockup cast member a "complete idiot" for holding out for a manager position that he would "never be qualified for." Some fans speculated that Joey wouldn't get the job due to his felony record.

"Even if Joey gets a job he ain't gonna do right with the money. That's just gonna be something else Kim is going to have to argue with him about," another fan said.

"Joey is a complete idiot! Yea, why get a good paying job because he doesn’t like hard work! He’s wearing an ankle monitor. He’s a felon! A COMPLETE dumb ass. Yea, hold out for a manager position that you’ll NEVER be qualified for. Run girl! Where’s your dignity?" a third fan said.

After Joey showed up at an HVAC company for his interview, he took to a confessional to reveal why he was looking for a job. He added that he didn't want to waste another 7-10 years and wanted to make "quick money."

The Love After Lockup cast member said that he was there because he and Kim couldn't get their dream house if he didn't have a job.

When the interviewer confirmed if he had applied for the position of technician, the 39-year-old said yes. He added that he didn't know much about repairing/plumbing but was hoping to "learn on the go." The interviewer was okay with that and said that Joey would be getting $16 an hour for the first six months of the job.

The interviewer explained that Joey would have to go to people's houses to troubleshoot the problems they were having with their electronics. He then added that the company would do a background check on the cast member before assigning him the job.

This is when Joey said he was in prison before, on drug-related charges. The interviewer said he could "almost guarantee" Joey wouldn't get this job but said he would reconfirm after talking to HR.
