Meanwhile, her Selling Sunset co-star reflected on the situation during a conversation with Netflix's Tudum on September 15, 2024. Nicole said that a "credible source" had given her information about Emma. She added that she didn't mean it as an "excuse" and that she owned what she said.

"But this is not something I made up," she added.

She also commented on the backlash she received from several cast members online for her statements and said that she was "doing OK."

Selling Sunset season 8 star Nicole Young found herself in trouble with some of her cast members for her statements about Emma Hernan's dating life. During season 8, she insinuated that Emma was involved with a married man, and the news was not well received. Even as Nicole shared the rumor on screen, Amanza and Mary tried to stop her from speaking.

Nicole spoke to Netflix's Tudum about the situation and said that it wasn't something she planned on doing. She said she only talked about it because she assumed Emma knew about the rumors. The Selling Sunset season 8 star revealed she had been told there would be certain "things that would be shown to support that."

Nicole revealed that the woman in question had confronted Emma during the season 7 finale. She added that both Nicole and Emma were "mic-ed up" but the confrontation was not featured in the previous season.

Nicole apologized for talking about the alleged affair in front of the camera. She added that it would have been "smarter" for her to not share the information since it looked "pretty bad" without context. However, she claimed that she wasn't a liar but that a "credible source" had given her the information.

Nicole added that she and Emma didn't have the "type of relationship" where she could speak to her directly. The Selling Sunset star said the latter was previously confronted about it on camera.

Nicole added that the confrontation weighed more on her because the "woman" felt strongly about the situation and directly confronted Emma. She added that the confrontation painted the situation in a "very different tone for Nicole.

Nicole was asked what she would say to Emma if she could. The cast member said she would tell Emma she had known the person who gave her the information for a "very long time." She added that since the person in question had previously confronted Emma, it set the tone for a "very different situation."

Nicole Young apologized for talking about the situation and clarified that she didn't have "malicious" intentions. The Selling Sunset season 8 cast member explained that she and Emma didn't have a friendship and that she didn't know how her words would have been received.

"It’s also tough when she has close friends surrounding her. They really want to use any possible situation to come at me aggressively with another round of attacks," Nicole stated.
