"Off-putting"— Love is Blind fans criticize Marissa's mother's "brash" and "aggressive" behavior towards Ramses

Love is Blind season 7 aired three new episodes, 7, 8, and 9, on Wednesday, October 8, 2024. In episode 9, titled, Is Love Enough? Marissa introduced her fiancé, Ramses to her family, including her siblings and her mother, Vanessa.

The cast member warned Ramses that her mother was protective of her and in the past, didn't approve of the people she dated. However, she noted that Ramses was different than her previous boyfriends and assured him her family would love him.

When the family arrived, Marissa mentioned Ramses talking about fashion while in the pods. Vanessa jokingly criticized his fashion sense while the rest of the group asked Ramses not to listen to her. As the conversation progressed, Vanessa voiced her concerns about the male cast member relying on Marissa's law degree and money in the future.

Ramses meets Marissa's mom, Vanessa in Love is Blind season 7 episode 9

In Love is Blind season 7 episode 9, Ramses was grilled by Vanessa about his relationship with Marissa. The cast member's mother enquired about Ramses' education and professional life as she was concerned about her daughter's future with him.

Later in the conversation, Ramses told the group that he was previously married when he was 25 years old. Vanessa pointed out that 25 wasn't a young age and Marissa explained the Love is Blind star was married to his high school sweetheart. As he explained that his ex-wife and he parted ways as they had different views on religion, Vanessa said Ramses was trying to make himself sound like a "saint."

When Marissa went to the bathroom her mother shared more concerns with Ramses. She told him about their "rough upbringing" and said she knew marriage wasn't "forever." She asked him to get a prenup because her daughter had worked too hard to get "f*cked over."
